Yup.
Yes, Sadira does play a lot like the usual fighting game ninja⊠thatâs because she was originally planned to be a full on ninja. The only major thing that changed since then and now is that she no longer has a face mask, which is a ninja staple.
But even without that, she still has a lot of ninja-esque elements. She still throws kunai, which are almost exclusively associated with ninjas. Also she has bonuses to stealthy actions in shadow lords mode. And it might be hard to notice at first, but Sadira wears some kunai around her underwear and boots in her default outfit. Plus, like you said, she all around plays similarly to a usual fighting game ninja, with her aerial projectiles and cross-ups.
So basically, the main reason KI3 Jago is widely considered a ninja is because of his mask, and the only reason Sadira is usually not considered a ninja is because of her lack of one.

I wholly blame NRS for this backwards phenomenon, whom I might point out are â â â â â â -tonk white dudes. Just sayinâ. 
I do wish they had kept her mask though. She looked really cool. I mean, she still looks good, but it was way better w/ the mask than without.
@TempusChaoti If you guys are looking into more accessory options (which I honestly believe would be a better expenditure of resources than recolors and âskinsâ, but itâs your game) I think Sadiraâs mask should probably be priority number one.

You mean like Kitana? If Killer Instinct gets a ninja with Tessen like Kitana, then it will be accused of being a Mortal Kombat rip off even more than it already has been.

If by ninja you simply mean a dude who uses stealth and â â â â ? Iâm all for that. But no sword. we got enough of those.

Actually, I forgot something. In addition to Sadira, Shago is a pseudo ninja. He teleports with poofs of smoke, he steaks up from behind with his slide and dive kick, and he has a sword and mask like the stereotypical ninja. Canon wise be probably doesnât actually use ninjutsu, but he is close enough. And Fulgore is kind of a cyber assassin, with his teleports and blade shooting, but there is nothing âninjaâ about him.
We already have 2 kind-of-ninjas, but still not an actual one.

Lol. That game was a joke though. Itâs okay to like jokes. This is coming from a borderline Dan main. I love him so much.
But for real, the old games are not canon anymore, at least their plots and happenings. Thatâs how reboots work. Iâm not being mean, Iâm just saying. shrug
They were not a Jokes at all and its not not canon its still canon just because we have a new canon doesnât mean the old ones are now non canon they are still canon the reboot just has a new canon. There a difference between being non canon and having a new canon.

There is really not a difference. Reboots seek to erase the previous history and replace it with new. That is literally what a reboot is - a de-canonization of previous iterations. This was a decision made by the guys that made the originals, not something I just made up because Iâm a hater.

They werenât jokes 20 years ago, maybe. I guess weâll have to agree to disagree there. Iâm one of those people that looks back on them and just sees a dumpster fire that wished it was MK featuring multiple versions of Janet Jackson for some bizarre obsessive reason. Oh well.

You know what yes I am going to agree to disagree because other wise this is going to turn into massive argument I donât think you get how non canon and new canon work a new canon doesnât erase the previous history it just creates a new History like the New 52 the old History is still is around just not in the New Canon if MS or IG wanted they could make another K.I game following the old History because even though it doesnât follow the new history it dose still exist but Iâm going to stop here now theres to much Heresy going on.

Okay. If I have to consider the old stuff as valid realities though, I just lose so much respect for the guys at DH. I like it better my way, where they could design decent characters and write a story that sort of makes sense.
First of all⊠chill. Seriously.
Second, there are 2 canons. The original canon and the NEW canon. However, they are not canon with eachother. One does not negate the other, but they donât mix either.
In the NEW game, original Jago is not canon. And in the old games, the NEW Jago isnât canon.
