WARNING: Do NOT start Win10 version of KI 1st!

As cool as that would be, I doubt most people would buy a whole new console just to play 1 game, despite how good KI really is.

I did.

Me, too.

Fighting games dont have high requirements really. Nothng special bout the reqs for KI.

I’m more concerned about how Doom will run

what is the option for those who don’t have Xbox One anymore and are returning to KI in PC ? they just don’t keep their save ?

Well, you should still have acces to Win10 KI since there’s a record of you owning the game on the XB1, via your account, which will be verified once you try to instlal the game. However, without the XB1 version to verify your data, may have to start over, yes. Of course, you could always redownload your profile (and game if they don’t already have it installed) to a friend’s console temporarily to activate it that way.

Im wondering if it can be played on the surface tablet then, if it has no real high specs.

Mobile killer instinct-

A lot of people will say that. That’s why we will get some people running it at 20-odd frames on their potatos and ruining the online experience for others. Most games, like SFV, will slow down the anmations in sigle player so all the frames play out and it appears smoother, but online, they will skip the frames that can’t be drawn in time, resulting in skipping and teleporting. I really hope that doesn’t become the case with KI (there should be an enforced 60 fps bottom cap that would automatically set the graphic level accordingly). Would be easy to test via ingame benchmark, too.

I wonder if this will work:

As the first UK major for KI is ran the weekend after s3 releases and they are using the s2 build for the tournament, I plan on using my laptop for s3 until after the tournament and keeping my xbox on s2. Will I be able to create a new profile on the xbox and use that to play on pc until I update my xbox and cam migrate across my main account. The main potential issue is that the alt account may not be listed as having purchased the game and so would not be able to play.

If someone could shed light on whether this will work that would be appreciated, otherwise I guess I’ll just find out next week.

If you login with a new profile to your xbox you’ll be able to play with a new save but you went have access on pc, because your pc will have the xbox profile it was attached to.

If you use the pc, before opening s3 with the right profile you will overwrite your xbox save.

What @Khar00f has said is true, but I’d like to add/clarify a few things. First, you can still access the game on an XB1 console from a separate profile even though the new profile doesn’t own it, so long as the owner’s profile is still on the console. If it is not the owner’s home console, however, the owner’s profile may need to be signed in at the same time the new 1 is in order to access the game itself.

That being said, to my knowledge, you can’t have 2 profiles signed in on PC at the same time, as the Win10 UI/interface is usable by only 1 person at any given time. Furthermore, I can definitively tell you that transferring save data from 1 profile to another, regardless of platform, is virtually impossible due to policies and systems MS has in place to protect individual content.

@rukizzel Hi man! Can you confirm what save data encompasses? Like I wrote earlier, I would actually like to have my statistics and a few other things to be wiped, even including XP, story mode progress and accessories, just as long as I get to keep Shadow Jago (and all the characters that come with the packages I bought). I have a feeling accessories are not save data as such, but technially DLC.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have created new profiles in the past and used them with KI and other games on my own console, I was wondering if those secondary profiles would have KI attached to the account’s purchase history, allowing me to use the secondary profile exclusively on my pc until after the tournament.

The road map for this would be as follows:

  1. create new profile this week on my xbox. Don’t use it for KI so there is no save data.
  2. once the 29th hits keep my xbox offline until after the tournament so I stay on s2.
  3. download KI s3 on my laptop and play using the 2nd profile.
  4. once the tournament has ended update my xbox to s3 then transfer over my main profile and save data to my laptop.

Does anyone know if I will have issues with this? If yes I will most likely just leave s3 until after the tournament, although I know my teammate @discomilitia wants to run some s3 money matches during the evening sessions at the tournament so I need a bit of practice some how.

You will likely have issues with steps 3 and 4. On your laptop, even though the game may be there, you might not be able to access it with the 2nd profile, since it did not purchase the game. This may vary with your laptop’s privacy settings, however, and may simply be playable by either profile - I honestly cannot be sure. What I can tell you, however, is that my brother has games on his Win10 PC that I cannot access when I sign in on his PC using my profile, so there is a precident.

Once you transfer your main profile’s data to the laptop, it will likely wipe out any previously saved information you had for the Win10 Edition of KI, or worse, if you’re not careful, the laptop info can be used to wipe out your main account’s data on the console.

You cannot transfer purchase history - that’s stays solely on the account where the purchase was made. So, if you bought the game with your main profile, that’s what the Win10 Edition of KI wil be associated with, since you get it for free for already having purchased it on XBL. So, that particular purchase will NOT be associated in any way shape or form with your 2nd account. That being said, if you’re willing, which I don’t think you are, you could simply rebuy the game on your laptop using your 2nd acount - but at that point, you’re basically throwing money away.

That sums it up pretty nicely thanks dude. Guess I’ll be leaving it until after the tournament, or giving in to temptation and just playing season 3 early hahaha.

So from what I’m reading, you want to keep your primary XB1 account on S2, but still play KI S3 on PC? I’m afraid the only way I see this happening on a laptop (and you want to play with all S3 cast from the start) is to buy S3 on your second account (basically, twice).

Indeed, certainly looks that way, I’ll leave it until afterwards, or practice my s2 specific stuff early in the week and then practice more universal stuff like run cancels and manuals in s3.

the only reason for this implementation is to defend MS from accusations of abandoning Xbox consoles. I.E.: buy Xbox first then PC.
they could run checks that sync accounts no matter which game on a preferred platform get booted from first. It’s good from a console perspective but reeks of desperation. If it is truly an open ecosystem like MS says cross play activation should go from PC to console as well. People only take these practices as seriously as the policies take themselves.

cross play from PC to console would introduce more people to Xbox live gold IMO and really be the way forward. I call a fail for now but who knows what the future holds.

The moment you realize that they should’ve stickied your post

Why? Did you lose your data? If so, bummer, and you have my condolences.
