well at least blazblue is in there, i am hoping we get to see something so ridiculously hyped as that doguro vs garireo grand final few years back. so far nothing has even come close to how hype that battle was! i just dont want EVO to suck, and with no KI thereā¦it definitely loses my enthusiasm to have it running all day streaming on all my devices around the house. blegh

I kind of have a gripe with Blazblue in the lineup since Guilty Gear was already included. Itās the same gripe I have with Smash having two games in the lineup but do we need both BB and GG in the lineup?
Iām totally biased but KI has had lots of hype moments in EVO but even those couldnāt get the game included into the line up without a charity drive.

I have like 6 friends that are MK fans, watching KI like a hawk for those Ultimate releases, lol.
With more stuff down the line, we should be ok. We still got 2017 & 2018 Pro Tour and such.
Well, I put in $10. I know itās not a lot, but thatās all I could afford to do at the moment.

On a side note in reference to the āall these yearsā bit, I wish I still had my Fulgore Tshirt I got from the Nintendo Power club catalog back in high school (the one in my avatar image). That thing was awesome! Oh wellā¦Iāll have to make due with the new Fulgore shirt I got from Eighty Sixed.

Who does Pr Balrog play?
He was playing Fulgore throughout the stream.
Many of the SF pros actually like KI, they just donāt compete in it or it falls somewhere below their waterline for āamount of games I can juggle while remaining competitive.ā KIās own competitive community is generally far more negative about the game than any big name SF competitor. I ran into Rog the other night as well, like 4 times in a row on his stream in fact 
On the advertisement front, I fall much more on @BigBadAndyās side than the opposite. MS has put effort into marketing KI, including having it as a mainstay game on all systems pre-launch, giving it main stage E3 screen time (even if not a ton), sponsoring the first Evo KI appeared in, multiple monetary contributions to KI tournament prize pots, making it a core of the āplay-anywhere cross-buyā launch (being a pilot is pretty good publicity), giving it a spot in the Halo 5 championships, etc.
Could they do more? Sure, of course. But itās always possible to do more. Perhaps they should have just ignored the tournament scene and focused their money on y or z marketing instead. But MSās support and advertisement for KI has certainly not been nothing, and Iām dubious as to the merit that additional marketing will have now.

Nah, Pretty E has my bet on that one. Top 8 at Evo if I recall correctly. Rog traveled more than E did though, so he probably got more exposure overall.

KI is getting obliterated by UMvC3 right now and it quite a ways behind Pokken.
I know we still have 12 days left but Iām not terribly optimistic about KI being at EVOā¦
For what itās worth, I did donate to charity and bought Kilgore as a result of this announcement so itās a win either way.

Is KI not popular enough? Did most of the pros stop playing it?

Popularity has nothing to do with Pros playing it.
example: Skyrim, Diablo 3 have a lot more people playing it/played it then prob all fighting games combined; But they dont have pros since those games dont have actual tournaments.
The comments iāve seen from pros is not enough money to be worth traveling for tournaments, not liking the split release of characters (its like going to full FGC school every content update to see whats new, etc)
Since MS doesnāt release numbers for the actual players per month/year, but we know 6 or 7 million total unique users have played KI, it means lots have tried it, maybe in its free form but we dont know how many have paid for content.
And iād bet each season content release, the # of people who pay to get stuff increasesā¦
For all we know it has 6 million unique players daily, but they are just casual gamers. the type that makes games huge cultural events with lots of sales, etc, but not necessarily advertise online since they just buy games and play em.
That is what a game needs to be a true success. lots of sales! i still say Evo should be secondary goal. I am bummed, but iām more bummed if we dont get yearly contentā¦

StarFryre2000 have you been able to donate yet? 
Not yet - iām still contemplating if i want too.
We give larger amounts to charity already (wife sponsors children @ Plan Canada, we donate to World Wildlife Fund and collect their stuffed toys for our twin girls in the charity name).
If the amts are closer, iāll certainly donate near the end of the drive and hopefully we get some larger donations to bring us over. But if weāre 5K down or something and not going to reach 1st place, iād rather donate to the charities we already donate too.
I did buy Killgore day 1 to support IG/MS though 
(as people who read my comments can probably guess, iām more for supporting sales for the game, than secondary goals such as tournaments)
Also, iām trying to sell some stuff, which would generate the extra cash to use for a donation. so far no one wants to buy it

Cool deal. Totally understand your sentiment.
Also, Iām glad you shared why you may or may not donate. Some people were hype for donating when we were in the lead (during the 1st hours), and now many have paused because weāre not in the running as heavily - which can cause more people to not donate - which is why Iāve been asking people to stop posting hopeless (or as some people say ārealisticā) messages on why we canāt win this battle. (To clarify, youāre post here is not hopeless at all, but instead helps me clarify a point)
Hopefully folks will see your response and line of thinking, and understand that there are tons of other KI players who can donate but just arenāt doing so, because they want the amounts to be closer.
My response to this mentality is - if we lost, did we give our best efforts as a community?
