If it was rated m and was more graphic, people would call it an mk knock off. I think they’re trying to avoid that.
Shadow lord bless you
Read one of the posts above and just got a mental image of the spider sucking up the loser in a straw like fashion lmao
SHHTHHOOOPT
I can’t help but imagine it trying to do that to characters like omen or aganos lol that spider will starve.
I like this direction but I still wonder how that works with fulgore’s ultimate. Does the opponent teleport out of the devastation beam?
I guess so, specifically because of the whole dead or alive thing.
Alive=/=unharmed
Fulgore hits you with his beam, but you survive, albeit injured.
I mean, technically almost every hit in KI is a killing blow.
Tusk hits you with any sword attack? Dead
Fulgore/Hisako/ grabs you? Dead
Kilgore uses any projectile? Dead
Hisako uses influence? Dead
… and so goes almost any character of the game
If you suspend your disbelief to allow all this, you can do it to allow Ultimates not being killing blows.
I take them as killing blows. Since characters don’t die, it doesn’t matter, as MK chars doesn’t die cannonically when you hit them with a fatality
Ultimates are non canon deaths to me. Which is not big deal.
Arguing about if they kill or not it’s a bit pointless to me. Is like arguing about if GTA cars have to stop for gas. Who cares?
I see. I thought otherwise because it looks like the opponent is being disintegrated by the beam.
This is exactly how I think of them too. In the end, I think this is the best way to see them because it’s a game after all and things that happen in a match are non-canon.
Ultras can count as killing blows too but I’ve always seen them as exaggerated knock-outs lol.
LOL I’m pretty sure any mortal being would be dead by the end of an Ultra Combo. I mean in the UFC they will stop the match as a TKO from a couple of shots without any noticable ATTEMPT to defend yourself in order to protect the safety of the fighters. 30+ hits on a completely defenseless opponent who just flops around like a ragdoll? Yeah they’re dead, Jim. But if people’s delicate sensibilities want to pretend that it’s just a really flashy KO and they are being nice and pulling their punches so the opponent just takes a nice long naptime after?? Let 'em, lol.
Forget ultra combos stabs, or bullets, everyone should be dead from blood loss after a few pokes considering the amount of blood that explodes out of people in this game.
Yup. Like I said, they seem like exaggerated or “flashy” KOs especially since KI’s characters are not exactly your average mortals.
I wish people would stop saying that the T rating is holding back the devs from explicitly showing the killing blow in Ultimates, as well as showing more blood and gore that maybe wouldn’t be on MK levels, but the T rating is still holding them back from showing more than the game already does.
This has been gone over way too many times in the past, but the devs have intentionally been keeping the violence in KI somewhat tame, not because they’re being held back by the T rating and an M rating will give them the freedom they need to make KI as violent as they want, but because they choose to do so.
I might prefer M-rated titles most of the time, but even I have to admit that I really can’t picture KI, at this moment, is needed to be M-rated to show off the Ultimates in gory detail.
The problem I have is how do you stop certain fringe and stupid people who would derail KI as a “MK rip-off” by simply having brutal finishers? It’ll just escalate into petty arguments over which title does better at what in a non-stop matter.
You steal my favorite quotes!
TRIGGERED
I like how Davyo said Everything is a killing blow in KI.
I mean, I don’t think anybody can survive anything the fighters dish out in real life lol
Why are the super combo finishers being censored?
And also, did sadira slid shin hisako’s throat or did she soft slap her dere?
They aren’t being censored though…
You cannot censor something that was never going to be gory to begin with.
@TempusChaoti already discussed this 2 years ago.
Yes I am serious. Censorship is changing something from its original state to something else. If something was already made that way, it isn’t censorship. For example, SFV’s R.Mika controversy was censoship. Why? The original version of the buttslap was changed toan off-screen version. That is censorship. Ultimates? It was already made that way so by definition, it isn’t censorship.
