I gotta say these Ultimates are way much tamer than I had anticipated… not even a blood spurt in any of them, whereas during a match you see blood gushing from a kick to the legs…
For TJ, for instance, I knew his old neck-breaker or machine gun ultimates would be too much for today’s more “impressionable” audience, but I thought at least he would punch his opponents onto the railway in front of a moving train or down the building and crashing into a car below (like in KI 1’s stage ultra).
But it’s all so censored and politically correct it almost takes away the notion of an Ultimate…
I’m starting to wonder if asking for Ultimates was a good idea after all. Perhaps going back to more stage ultras would be an actually safer bet. I still see potential in the kraken in Spinal’s stage and in the giant spider in Sadira’s stage. Even Sabrewulf’s furnace would be great to have someone thrown in, but I bet that would be waaay too much…
Little disappointed they showed the Ultimates already sort of ruins finding them out on the game and it’s not exactly easy to not watch them when you know there out on youtube already. Im cool with seeing one to know there coming and also being told which characters are getting them and when but I would of liked it if they kept the others under wraps till they were actually out. Also only 15 I hope thats just what they have finished and are working on the rest of the cast if some character’s miss out that would be a cop out it will be the stage thing all over again.
I gotta say, I’m kind of disappointed. These are not so much kill moves, but rather shorter, flashier, more powered up ultras. Combo’s is literally just some punches. Meh…
Jago’s attack completely fried Wulf and Kilgore, they’re not breathing…DEAD…
Maya controlled the blades under Cinder’s FACE and she kicked his face into the blades probably stabbing through his eyes and brain…DEAD!
TJ punched Mira and on the last punch broke her neck…DEAD!
Thunder stomped the ■■■■ out of rash and sent a giant, prolonged lighting bolts down on him…DEAD! seriously you ever got struck by lightning? that kills people. If you don’t think Thunder killed Rash, why don’t you try getting struck by it sometime? : p (note that last part is sarcasm)
Tusk ran his sword through Kim’s abdoment…If this isn’t death, then you sir don’t see it so…DEAD!
Do an Ultra, watch your opponent still breath If the opponent isn’t moving they are DEAD!
Just because it’s not having blood splurt every which way doesn’t mean the opponent is A-OK unlike Ultras which just beats you silly.
These ultimates are really good however I’m not expecting omen to get one until much later on down the road if that anyway I’m really digging tusks and thunders ultimates.
My dream ultimate for Kim assuming she gets one is that she sends the dragon spirits to attacks and hold the opponent in place, then she dragon kicks them and they explode in gold light. With some extra hits and maybe the grassy field background, of course
I tend to think that the blood stuff is relatively tame in the fighting, but might push the T rating a bit far if they used it in a finishing move. I could be wrong though.
As an Ultimate? You realize you can do these on any stage right? How it make sense to have a train or a building if you were just on any of the outdoor stages like Spinal, Riptor, Maya, Aganos etc? Also, they have to black out the background, you don’t think it would look a little weird with a train floating along or a building just appearing out of nowhere?
How does political correctness have anything to do with adhering to the ratings system and MS’ desire to hold this to a T rated game? You want to discuss what’s an appropriate level of violence, gore, etc and what’s not with the ESRB, go for it, but it’d be a stretch (at best) to say that’s a conversation about political correctness.
For your reference, political correctness is: “the avoidance, often considered as taken to extremes, of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.”
Really don’t know what you were expecting given everything we’ve seen in this game so far.
Are you honestly disappointed in the developer for showing us something that you made the active choice not to resist watching?
The only thing I don’t like about Maya’s is how her blades combine into a swirling death machine just so they can give Cinder a little tap on the butt to make him hop forward and setup the axe kick. Pretty silly.
