UA (censored) Quit KI

There shouldn’t have been one IMO.

But whatever…

Good luck to the Skeleton King.

he has already stated several times on twitter and Facebook what he doesnt like and why he is leaving.

He said the game is a mess, a hot mess, if Spinal doesn’t get the changes he wants he is leaving, and more thing I cant recall. ( And Im paraphrasing so dont take my exact words as law)

LCD also said the same thing.

If you really want to know go to his twitter and Facebook page and just read his posts for the last month.

He is just burnt out on not winning like he used to at major events. All the guys that have quit recently all used to win the majority of their events or place top 3… the more they dont place, the more they blame the game.

What? I’m the skeleton King! AJA Bass was pretty good with Spinal but there’s always that one player who shines brighter.

I guess their mindset isn’t cutting it no more. Winning without losing ain’t nothing.

Bass has been great for KI and a hugely positive member of the community overall.

I chatted with him after the event and if he needs to step away, that’s totally fine. He’s been a great player and contributor to the KI scene.

Nothing but well wishes to him for the future.

Best wishes to Bass and congrats for his amazing Spinal and games. It’s understandable if he wants to move one. I felt the same with another game and now I enjoy it in casual play.

PS: Because of Bass I thought Spinal was Wulf’s counterpick; that the character was a Wulf Killer. In the end I understood Bass was the Wulf Killer.

Cheers.

Yeah sorry, I should’ve done some more digging instead of just assuming he was keeping his reasons to himself. Good call there.

I wasn’t aware that LCD said that he was leaving as well. No kidding.

Honestly, I can’t really relate to these guys. I play because the game is fun. I love the character designs, the combo system, the gameplay mechanics, the modes (mainly the single player stuff), the reward loop, etc.

But these guys play for the sake of competition and winning and making some money as well. They host streams, they travel, etc. So while I’m sure they enjoy the game, it’s also work for them. With all the training these guys put into the game, I’d have to think they’d get burnt out after a while.

I’m guessing no one’s leaving on horrible terms or aggressively trashing the game on their way out the door, so if they need time away or they need to move on to something new for a while or even forever, I have zero ill will directed at them for wanting that, even if that burn out can sometimes manifest itself in ways that seem less than positive at times. We all get frustrated.
