Thanks for this explanation - it gives me a much better understanding of where you’re coming from. Not that you owe me one, or you’re not allowed to dislike the Retro, of course.
Like I said, from your original post, I got a much different impression of your opinion, and was bracing for the “no eye-black = KI is ruined!!!1!!!1” tidal wave!
Tusk’s face looks fine.
I’ve never completely understood the criticism but I think much of it seems to be based on low-quality screen caps of him when he was making his “exert sounds” expression during his outro.
I’m fine with his skin color being as light as it is. Correct me if I’m mistaken but his race is or related to Celts, right? It is my understanding that they tend to on average be fairly light-skinned. For the record though, I’d only seen him in the lighting of his home stage.
The way he appears now, he bears a pretty close resemblance to Chris Hemsworth in his role as Thor, whom, last I checked, is considered pretty damn hot. Maybe as a direct result of that, aesthetically this makes him look more convincing in the self-stated role of “watchman of the gods”.
Or maybe I’m just being racially biased…
Either way, I think we can all agree: Chris Hemsworth is pretty damn hot!
I wouldn’t call that Braveheart-style. Braveheart had scraps of blue on his face, and he was Scottish, not Pictish. Retro 7 is clearly pure Pict.
Something I wanted BADLY as a Tusk color option, but never dared to hope we would receive. That color is a dream come true for me.
Here’s me cosplaying as a Pictish warlord back in September for Salt Lake Comic Con. The color is a bit off. My skin was the exact shade as Tusk’s retro 7. I have no tattoos irl.
