TJ's ultimate

Mate, that is an exceptionally small portion of the game to think was “lacking good attention”.

To some new players who don’t play KI. Not me. TJ’s Ultimate is my least favorite but it’s brought quite the attention in the community.

Even then. I don’t know anyone, myself included, that would go to a brand new game and say “this is a finishing move? Well that by itself is so lackluster I will not be purchasing it.”

I have a cousin whom I’m been trying to convince him to play KI. He’s kinda a KI fan from the arcade versions and still not interested because of other missing small features and “lackluster” finishing moves in KI today. Who knows how many players like him still don’t play the game.
Anywho, I’m going off topic from this so msg me back to discuss more on the matter.

If the Ultimate is the reason why you would not play the game, then I feel that person is missing the point of playing KI or any fighting game for that matter. It’s not like the Ultimate has anything to do with getting the edge over your opponent.

That’s not the point I’m making. The point is some Ultimates like TJ’s didn’t meet everyone’s expectations.

I thought it was lack luster as well, but if someone is deciding to not play the game because of a Ultimate, which is only been introduced, then that said person is missing the point of the fighting game. Especially this fighting game. Not saying that is right nor wrong, just that the mindset of playing a game only for the “finisher” would only produce a short term fan to begin with.

I’m hoping it’s as we’ve always seen work in progress, sound effects even maybe a few more visual cues will enhance the ultimate for Combo.

Good thing about IG, is that you know that they are reading the feed back and it is at least a possibility.

Some play mortal kombat just for the sake of fatalities. And eventually after the initial shock value wears off they end up abandoning it. Look what happened to MKX in the evo donation pool

I’m sure a lot of the MKX issue has to do with NRS conditioning their player base over the years to not get too attatched, because the next iteration of MK will be coming soon, and everything will be different, the controls, the commands, the abilities, everything. I can’t think of a single MK over the years where knowledge about how to play 1 game can carry over into another, and you can pick it up and play without missing a beat.
