The Everlasting Child

Wow. I honestly didn’t expect to see writing of this caliber associated with a KI character bio. I’m really impressed.

Partly it’s that Hisako’s story is much more emotionally compelling than most of the other characters, but this definitely continues the trend from last week. Purposeful and deliberate prose that doesn’t waste a lot of time and energy and contains no extraneous detail. You can’t read this and not know who the “ghost girl” is. I’m not even a big Hisako fan but this is really well done.

This makes me want to play Hisako. I can imagine her slaying everyone, while the village is on fire. Sounds awesome! Lol great story! I see her in a totally different light, and I’m not talking about the picture. :stuck_out_tongue:

One of Hisakos ‘calling cards’ should include the name Chiharu so that we players don’t forget it.
This goes for all characters actually…

Awesome story. I love how even after seeing people she cared about lie on the ground dead, she still had the courage and strength to stand up against the bad guys and take out as many as she could before dying. She is an awesome character.

“The last thing that she saw in this world was a young man’s face grinning at her—the man whom she had spurned by the river. With her dying effort she swiped her cat’s claw across his cheek…and then she died with his screams of anguish echoing in her ears.”

Sooooooo… That young man is not a comfirmed kill…

So far, we know he has a scar across his cheek, and the poison really hurts… but maybe he is alive? Not alive as any of us, but a monster/cursed/ghost/whatever.

A nice showdown between Hisako and the man who is the reason of all her pain

Hinted characters so far:
-Kim Wu (confirmed)
-Tusk (confirmed)
-Rash (confirmed)
-Arbiter (confirmed)
-Gargos (Omnipresent, almost confirmed)
-Alien criminal, Glacius backstory
-Disavowed member with accent(IMO, could be Tusk), TJ backstory
-Mira, Maya’s sister in her backstory
-The Noble and the General, Kan-Ra’s backstory
-The young man, Hisako’s backstory
-Eyedol (well, I have to keep my hope!)

Assuming all true and all different characters, 12 characters

Well, let me dream awake XDD

astral plane is the afterlife (indirectly) so to speak, the mundane is the world of the living, I see it as MK’s netherworld…

Cats claw is venomous though.

i assume most poisonous weapons use the kind of poisons that kills…especially in an era that isnt really that medically advance to save someone from lethal poison that was scratched in the face near the brain

have to admit that was a good back story. For some reason I feel like watching Five Deadly Venoms, and Curse of the Golden Flower. Good Job IG.

I think I love Hisako even more ehe! Love there’s an explanation for ripped kimono, the bracelet, the feet! Excellent job guys!

He could transform in a monster. He would be like hundreds of years old like Hisako.

Serious about those jabs though :unamused: They’re super shallow and don’t link to anything except shadow ORZ, so they aren’t particularly useful in the current game.

I thought that was the point of Hisako? :open_mouth:

A wonderful story, I couldn’t help but grin with joy with her lashing that pompous ■■■■■■■ with her poisoned claw weapon!

So it seems Hisako may be joining to fight Gargos, interesting.

I don’t mind having buttons that aren’t quite as useful, but Hisako’s jabs are functionally useless in the current game. Every button on a character certainly doesn’t have to be good, but I tend to think there should be at least some use for all buttons on a character.

As it is, you can play Hisako at a very high level without ever having to use a light normal. There is no cause to use one, and no benefits either. She can’t confirm off the buttons without meter, so you’re better off just never using them for the most part. If you can jab, probably should have just used an influence instead.

■■■■ That was an amazing story.

That Aristocrat, At first sounded He like kan-ra once again… Wonder what would’ve happened if Hisako accepted his hand in marriage… OH god the mental images!

Best image I could make…

This has been a gripe of mine since week 1 Hisako play. Why bother with a jab? Jump-jabs (and J+LK for that matter) have their place on grounded opponents to start combos, but grounded light normals are simply not optimal. Mind you, the S3 Flip-Out mechanic has lent more purpose to her jab… but even with the S3 changes, Hisako feels like she’s missing something in the way of staying competitive with the likes of say, Glacius or Shago, and a mildly-damaging poison effect on her jab would not only give her that little edge, AND tie into lore, but it would give us Hisako players VERY good reason to pursue the challenge of making good use out of that shallow, wonky jab (which appears to be animated in the fashion of a claw-strike as-is).

A man can dream…

great story hisako,good job

Been hearing the term flip-out a lot, can someone explain real short and simple what it would do in season 3?

It resets the opponent back to the ground while being invincible while falling. Great for a mix up once they land.
