I do not want to knock it before I try it but I really do not like the pixel animation style this is in looks horrible imo. Looks cool gameplay wise though similar to smash bros but to be honest an eye sore to my eyes.
couldnāt care less about tekken.
I understand. 8-bit style can be very off putting to some. But the actual matches arenāt that zoomed in.
Here is an actual 1v1 set:
Not bad. I wonder how that works though seems to me like a blatant rip off of Smash Bros. They must not have any rights to the gameplay mechanics because it looks identical to Smash but I would totally play this if it has an XB1 release ever. I love the Smash games as a party game to play with friends I have seen competitive matches and they are great but I would never want to get into that level of play in a game like Smash.
Okami was my jam! That was just a really, really, beautiful game
With regards to OP, while I havenāt been a serious Tekken fan for a while (last Tekken I really played was Tekken 3), I donāt particularly like Sony grabbing up exclusivity rights to all the fighters that they can. It doesnāt really matter to me personally if KOF14 or Tekken 7 or Xrd donāt come to X1 (as Iāve no interest in playing them), but it does matter to other fighting game fans out there, and it means those people will be that much less likely to ever pick up an X1. Which is bad for me as a fan because without the support of all kinds of players, the system (or just certain genres) ceases to be a solid revenue source for the company, resulting in less investment in the entire enterprise.
If it werenāt for MKX, Killer Instinct would be basically the only sounding board for the question of whether or not fighting games are worth investing in on X1. While thatās good for KI to a certain extent, itās very bad in the sense that if KI doesnāt do well, what incentive will MS have to try and get other fighters to the system? What if it does ok, but they find it isnāt able to capture peopleās imaginations even though itās F2P? They might well just say āwell crap, guess Sony stole that market from usā and just go on about their business.
I donāt mind certain games having console exclusivity, but it is a problem when nearly an entire genre has console exclusivity.
Okami is indeed awesome! But at release, it failed horribly. People started opening their eyes for it years later though, but then it was kinda too late. The same happened with the Street Fighter 3 series.
First party exclusives? That makes sense.
Third party titles that were previously multi-platform going console exclusive? Thatās no good.
Exactly, I could never understand the supposed FG fans that say they are part of the āFGCā because you know, it sounds cool, that say oh well I do not care about this fighting game because it is too anime, too gory, too much fan service, or because it is a 3D fighter it automatically sucks and deserves no support. Although I think everyone is entitled to their opinion as a genre FGs suffer a lot from poor sales and support longterm (look at MvC3 and others). I love FGs, yes I am biased to KI to an extent because I love it so much, but I can see the need to support the genre as a whole so KI can succeed as well so developers, studios and what not can take them as serious as other genres.
I am just hoping for a huge rise in the FGC with the huge rise in the trend of eSports going on now.
Well⦠if ALL fighting games were Sony Playstation exclusive⦠then Iād just get the PS4 from the very start. But KIā¦
See, that is not the case with me. I got my xbox for Gears of war and Halo. I need those games lol I do not like any games on PS that are exclusive to that console besides the FGs mentiomed in this thread. Bloodborne, Uncharted, Last of Us all those types of games I do not care for so my hope would be to get more on XB. Luckily, the best FG in my opinion (KI) is on XB so thereās that. I would love to have others not just because they used to be on 360 so thats a no brainer, but just to have something else to play when I need a change of pace and for something fresh from time to time.
Well, or the other way around⦠if all the fighting games would only be on Xbox One, Iād just get that.
Hmm well even though Tekken was Sony exclusive one upon a time I donāt think it would be smart to do this now. If it does happen that just means ms has to step their game up, maybe get back in the court with sega and nab Virtua Fighter? I wouldnāt complain if we got some new sega games as a whole on XBOne
I have all three consoles, but Tekken is not on my list.
All three?
PS4, Xbone and the OUYA?
;3
No, the other console with the ridiculous name. Wii.
Maybe they wonāt make anymore exclusive fighting games! We could end up seeing more horrible N64 racing and shooter games remade from 1998-2000 back from the dead. Daikatana, Shadowman, Forsaken?
I got XBOX one originally for Madden, but Iām glad I got Warriors Orochi 3 for it too. Shame that we donāt get ant cool fighting games because Microsoft would be stupid to re-release turds from the 90ās like Weaponlord , 3DO failures and stupid games like Operation Racoon Cityā¦
Whats wrong with Shadow Man? I liked it.
Ii was revealed on the unreal showcase video last year i believe and revealed the game as a ps4 & xb1 game. Things could have changed, but its likely on both.
