I just hope Miguel’s vengeance against Jin ends in this game. He needs to move on.
Nothing against those that enjoy Miguel (obviously) but I’ve never found anything in his move set that makes me want to use him. He’s one of the better designed characters from a conceptual, non-gameplay perspective, as I think he has a unique look and style, and an interesting background, but unless they decided to add some cool new toys to his mostly nondescript repertoire, I’ll probably never use him.
Still hoping for Zafina and Lei, but for those excited for Lee and Miguel, I hope you enjoy them! Here’s hoping we get a few more additions before too long as well.
I like Miguel, but suck playing as him. I main Lars and Bob, but I also play Steve, Dragunov and King and I actually got a chance to play Tekken 7 last Thursday at NYCC. The game looks amazing and the trailers and streams do it no justice I got to experience it first hand and I had to say I enjoyed it, and the game plays very fast.
Miguel just requires an understanding of what moves start his “stance” move. From there, it’s a couple of hits, back into the stance move. He requires a lot of patience to learn, and has one of the hardest hitting moves in the game.
(Literally laughs as he walks up slowly, and delivers a hard, bone crunching punch that’s like half health gone lol)
Miguel was another of my favorites! At this point I think all the people I like are in it. Really excited for its release!
I’m actually playing with Leo in Tekken 7
She’s really cool to me being a sort of spy, and she’s got a cool fighting style.
I’ve played her since her release in Tekken 6. Before that, it was all Heihachi.
I honestly jumped ship from Tekken a long time ago after TTT and only came back for TTT2 however these are some neat looking trailers so far. Hope the game’s fun for you folks.
Wasn’t there an iteration of this game that had projectiles?
I’ve never purchased a tekken so I can’t confirm
Tekken proper has never really had projectiles, but there are a small number of “beam” moves from characters like deviljin and angel and… whatever the ugly demon thing is.
Tekken 7 looks beautiful, there’s no doubt. I’m worried about online, which has never been better than just ok for the series. I’ve never really been into the series but I will probably pick this up, just as a supporter of fighting games.
Yeah I’ll definitely be picking this one up too.
I’ll probably start off with my old standbys, namely Heihachi (my main since the first one), Paul, King, Jin, Hwoarang, Nina, Dragunov and Yoshimitsu.
But I’d also like to expand out in to some of the new characters as well. Has anyone tried the new characters out in the arcade?
Kazumi looks really fun. Same goes for Lucky Chloe, Katarina and Shaheen. Not sure I’ve seen enough of Gigas, Claudio, Master Raven or Josie to really judge either way.
Kazumi has literal “Tiger Punches.”
It’s amazing. Lol
I’ve got King & Yoshimitsu but still no Armor King. :’(
This announcement got people salty af.
Does anyone actually like Kuma and Panda?
I mean, they are fun and all, but is it a character who people actually want?
You must be VERY new to Tekken, considering Hwoarang preceded Baek and Baek is actually a mechanically simplified Hwoarang. So that’s actually completely false. I’ll assume TT2 was your first Tekken, maybe T6?
Asuka sort of did replace Jun, but Jun had already been gone for several iterations, so when Asuka showed up, she was much more fleshed out than Jun, and when Jun came back in TT2 they played pretty differently, actually. I mean, I guess the comparison there would be like SF5 Ken to Ryu levels of similarities.
Christie is an Eddy clone, that’s legit.
@Iago407 Pretty sure that Zafina is dead in the canon. I could be wrong, but I don’t think I am… Soz if l’m right, she was neat.
And yeah, I’ve been bodying clowns w/ Kuma since T3. They’re legit characters if you’re patient and have defense. And more staple to the series than Miguel or Dragunov, for instance.
I would have been surprised if the bears weren’t put into the game at all. It would be a shame if Lei isn’t put in too. Shouldn’t go wasting a character like that.
Tekken Revolution has Eliza. I think that counts.
Really? No kidding… That’s unfortunate. I’ll have to go back to Tekken 6 and find that part. Been forever since I played that. Mostly just play TTT2 when I play Tekken lately.
Curious what you mean by this. Or rather just wanting to make sure that I understand you correctly, as Baek made his debut in Tekken 2, while Hwoarang first appeared in Tekken 3.
Why can’t they just leave all the goofy ■■■■ out for one game. Just one game…
So yeah, not a fan of the fighting bears that always have silly, pointless endings.
Cant say for sure how the rest of the Tekken fans see them, though it’s personally hard for me to imagine overwhelming exhuberance.
Is Revolution considered a true Tekken game? I sort of think if it as a slightly better version if that horrible or Souk Calibur F2P game…
I actually played this a little and it had some oddd mechanics but was ok. I didn’t get all that far and don’t know Eliza. If she has a projectile then that’s fair.
OMG IM SO EMBARRASSED - You’re right about Baek. I hadn’t realized I could fit both feet in mouth… scurries away
I’m sorry, Incubus.
It is still wholly inaccurate to say one is clone or replacement. They are quite different.
For the record.though, I am genuinely excited for the return of the bears. I don’t think Tekken has ever been nor.should ever be a wholly serious universe. You said you’re a Heihachi main, right? Have you met Heihachi? He’s not a joke, like the animals, bit he is still a TOTAL goofball.
I’m not a big fan of Tekken’s gameplay, so I’m probably not getting the game right away, but I’m happy Kuma is in. He’s my favorite character, and maybe he could make me cave in and get this game earlier if I’ve got the extra cash.
