I think it works well enough to be considered a real Tekken despite it being more like a F2P game. A character’s a character.
As for her having a projectile, if you watch her trailer, you can see that she has a Reppuken.

You don’t seem to have understood what I meant at all, instead just throwing assumptions at me. I am aware that they play differently, but that doesn’t change that Hwoarang was still made to replace Baek. Same with Asuka and Jun, same with Julia and Michelle etc.
When I say “clone-characters”, it is not necessarily a character that is COMPLETELY alike, but rather someone who has alot of the same trades, whether it is gameplay or appearance wise. And again, I repeat, not COMPLETELY alike.

It does seem that I misunderstood you a bit, but I really don’t think Hwoarang was meant to replace Baek - though at least in the lore and hearts of the fandom, he surely did. Insofar as gameplay goes, I don’t think the Tae-Kwon-Do Duo are on a par with the others you mention, as they play REALLY differently, and existed side by side for quite some time, whereas the others you mention are pretty much all direct “replacements” or flat-out clones.

Now on this, I wholly agree w/ you. I’m so bummed that it seems like Kuni ain’t coming back, but they reskinned Raven for the sake of T&A. Raven already had a nice booty, ffs.
I’m not sure I’ve been happy w/ the direction of Tekken for a few iterations now, but considering I totally put this whole Master Raven thing out of my mind, I’m sure this is the most disappointing iteration for me yet.
And they’re doing the thing I hated most about SC5 - adding Supers as if it’s an interesting mechanic. Ugh. Facepalm, headdesk.
I guess there is still time for them to do something to sell me on it. Or I’ll be jamming T5 for another x-years. T5 never gets old.

Does that mean halfway through T7’s life they’ll regret Master Raven and if we’re real lucky they’ll give us Raven back?

lol, difference is, it’s not the same character ICly, she’s apparently his “master”, hence why she is called Master Raven. The fact that she doesn’t even have her own name is just so incredibly moronic as well.
That said though, I DO think she looks cool! I just wish she was a UNIQUE character, and not just a female model slapped onto another character’s gameplay. And that she at least had her own name as well. 
Lol! I didn’t ever play taken so I’m glad master raven brought me in to the series.

All these comments about people salty over the bears ( Kuma & Panda) characters that have been in the series since the first installment. Honestly I was surprised they weren’t announced sooner, but to get upset over veteran characters returning is pretty dumb. You want to talk about characters “nobody likes” or have goofy endings let’s take a look at one of my favorite characters, Bob. Not at all a serious character, and all all of his endings were pretty much jokes, but we’re talking about a character with a unique moveset that many pro Tekken players used and actually made it to grand finals at evo a few years back… I guess what I’m trying to say is never judge a book by it’s cover. Just because something seems odd or stupid to you doesn’t mean the same to others.
