Question what are the requirements for an opinion to matter?
Iâm not even sure i know even a 1/5 of KIâs idle animations. Rashâs is the most prominent in my memory. I donât let them stand around so long for me to notice or find it concerning about what theyâre doing.
@LycanNaryko allow me a question. Visuals mean a lot to your enjoyment of a game iâm gathering. Is it that the game since S1 does not flow fluidly in matches, the character animations do not look great, or another issue when it comes to visuals that make you disheartened about the game?
Things that you donât like are not âamateurish.â For 11 versions of Street Fighter Ken and Ryu had the same body and all the same animations and yet no one called it âamateurish.â
My point was to put your complaint in the perspective of the real world. I couldnât care less if you like the game, or what other games you do or donât like. But your comments are never âI donât like it,â itâs always âI donât like it because the game is of sub standard quality.â I think this is untrue, and I think itâs worth pointing out.
I just think itâs kinda funny.
Not to be snide or anything, but some people would not last in the days of SF2 and beyond if they didnât like recycled animations.
It hurts me to see how there is so much conformism with ki, see the reality, it is time to make a new ki, simply, the game looks old, but there are people who believe that can compete with the new games that are now, the game is already four years old .
NRS reuses some animations from game to game, they also suck at making charactersâ moves believable.
Capcom - Cammyâs new air throw and MVC:I looks worse than ugliest things in KI. And in SF5 EVERYTHING CLIPS - hair, capes, etc.
You would praise KI if you saw how capcom.sys would â â â â â up Miraâs cape for example.
Tekken has nice animations but they do not reinvent wheel, core gameplay is same since T1, they only add moves and polish existing animations with each sequel for 20 friggin years.
I dont play anime fighters but its already stated that they reuse assets between games.
KI is resurrected brand after almost 20 years of hiatus, Ki2013 is basically made from scratch, and with so scarce resources DH/IG has, they do wonderful job, so cut them some slack ffs.
And there is bright side to reused animations - you donât have to memorize new auto doubles to break. Maybe they are intentional?
Havenât played Tekken Seriously since 4. I played Lee Chaolan. Played 7 at CEO, and was highly amused that I could still do the same combos.
I bought the game cause it was good looking and on top played very well in season one. Only the retros were bad imo.
But the animations looked all very very good. It felt right.
But starting with Season 2 it slowly started degrading. TJ and Maya are imo still below the standard of Season One. While there were some good ones like Riptor or Hisako. It still felt inconsistent.
Season 3 made it worse with Raam as example.
Post S3 got the nail in the coffin for me. Cause that was unneeded to me. It looks bad and im bothered by the Quality of it.
Thats the complaint i raised.The recycled characters are my personal thing.
I dont care whats the reason for it. Dev change, budget or whatever. They charged the same amount of money and i expected the same level of quality.
If you think everything has the same quality since S1 then fine thats your opinion.
In my opinion the Quality degraded to a point where i dont want to play KI anymore (and i played it a lot).
Other fighting games dont matter in this area to me. It is no argument to say but other fight games have clones, clipping (which btw KI has a lot too but that does not bother me like bad animations or badly executed clones) and so on too. It is about KI not SFV, Injustice or any other fight game.

No it wasnât. It was to challenge your stance on KI having recycled content when other fighting games conduct the same practice. Then when you DENIED this when numerous ppl in this chat have examples that this was true, you advised him of trying to provocate something out of you when all he wanted was for you to be consistent.
The issue is that youâre giving other fighting games a pass from the same flaws you started but not KI.
I tend to agree with you on this, as Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Akuma, Shin Akuma, Evil Ryu, Violent Ken, and Dan are classic examples of clone and or remix characters.
Which characters are recycled within Injustice 2 or SFV or GG? I dont see a characters that idles, walks, dashes or punches animationwise the same.
For the argument about Characters that share a move like a tatsu, shoryu or hado are already recycled - if stuff like that would bothers me than i could not play fight games. Or characters from previous games⊠Like jago, orchid, fulgore.
Cause this even happens in KI.
If this is your definition than fine - that is your opinion and i dont argue with that. But it is not my definition.
Legacy characters are near-unchanged going from injustice 1 to 2.

Injustice 1 is not Injustice 2.
I dont care if characters reappear nearly unchanged in the Sequel.
If KI gets a Sequel then im totally fine with Jago reappearing with the same Moves, Animations and so on.
It bothers me within the same game when characters use nearly the whole Animation set of another character. It gets even worse when the are just reskinned like Shin Hisako, Kilgore or Shadow Jago.
I dont care if they Play different but if the walk, Punch or kick in the same way than it bothers me.
For example Ryu and Ken in SFV. The walk different, Idle different and even their normals move different. They share a Hadoken, Tatsu an Shoryuken but they are also animated different just like Jago Endo and Fulgore Fireball or their Shoryukens. I dont care for stuff like special moves though.
Ist called taste and opinions. If you are fine with it ok and if copying Batman in Injustice 2 from Injustice 1 is in your opinion the same as havin Hisako and Shin Hisako within the same game than fine - that is your opinion. To me ist not.
So please stop trying to invalidate my opinion which is driven by taste. Cause it is the first thing i check when starting a fighting game for the first time. How are the Idles animated, the throws, the normals, the movement and so on. If that bothers me i stop playing the game. I played Injustice 2 and i dont like the animations from a lot of characters (but just because the feel stiff not recycled) - so i dont play it anymore. And it Plays like underwater on top of that. KI Gameplay is fine (though i like S1 the most gameplaywise).
I get that most of the People here love KI but reading over stuff like within the same game more than once seems a bitâŠ
And it seems like a lot of People on here can not accept others opinion about KI even if they a paired with fixed boundaries like a within the same game. They still bring up but but Injustice copied from 1 to 2 or Ryu in SFV is the same as before or GG uses assets from Blazblue or Blazblue uses assets from GG or DBFZ uses assets from MK1.
So again i only get bothered by recycled characters within the same VERSION of the game (but i guess now someone gets out and says but the KI with Shin Hisako has a different Version Number than the KI without herâŠ). And in my personal opinion the KI Recycling is on top badly executed.
Recycling that bothers me means:
The Idle Animation of another character
A lot of Normals Animations of another character
The Walk Animation of another character
The Dash Animation of another character

You apparently didnât feel the need to explain yourself and yet 5 posts later youâre still trying to hold on to your idea of how if they bend their leg this way itâs ok, but if they bend it that way theyâre a clone. But this is a public forum. If you want to say your peace thatâs fine, but if you donât want anyone to argue with you, then keep your opinions to yourself. Iâd just about guarantee you everyone on this forum at one time or another has had some sort of odd opinion about one thing or another that they havenât said because they knew only they cared about it or see things in their own particular way.

So you would rather have non-optional payments for the same content you already own when the old game is invalidated by the new one, rather than having the option to buy new characters with recycled animations (but totally different playstyles) that you are able to play the game without owning.

I donât think this guy gets the game is also a small budget title. Always has been and once s3 was over it was even smaller. I donât like shin hisako much at all since I didnât care for regular hisako. Her being a remix when I get the current state of the gameâs sec cycle doesnât bother me at all since I know theyâre working with what they got here. They likely djdnt have enough for 3 full characters so saved the most for eagle since heâs been requested for awhile
I would but i dont like when people can not read what i wrote and say you are wrong with that cause this game clearly has recycled characters. Like a few posts early after saying within the same version - still someone says you could say injustice 1 GA has the same Animations as Injustice 2 GA.
So its no real discussion if someone does not read/hear what the other has to say.
So if someone says he does not like cappucino because it tastes like milk coffee to him than there is no point in discussing - cause he does not like it. What happend here tho is - so you dont like cappucino so you dont really drink coffee it seems, cause every coffee has nuances of milk in it. The he says no cause only this sort of coffee is what i dont like and i dont care how other coffees taste cause thats the thing what i dont like. Then again but other coffees though⊠this is just dumb arguing about a dislike of something. Bin ich hier im Kindergarten (a german idiom) i would say.
Its not that i go on every fighting game forum and scream KI is super duper low quality⊠i came hear cause i know MS/IG read comments here (i dont use twitter or anything like that).

I dont care to spend money on fight games. I buy nearly every fighitng game that looks worth supporting (MvCI in its current state as example - i will not buy) even if i know that i will not play it that long. I do it just, to at least have the feeling to support fighting games, so that developers/publishers keep them coming.
But if i really liked a fighting game like KI then i spend time on the forums and of course i voice my concern, when the quality in my opinion downgrades. But i also stop playing, when the quality gets too low for my taste. Even if im a fan of something - i still have my own preferences and dislikes.
They did not charged low budget for the game or the characters though⊠there would have been several ways (like kickstarter n stuff) to get more budget to create new characters.
