“DEFINITIVE EDITION”… The “DEFINITIVE” part indicates that it will have EVERYTHING and is the FINAL edition of the game.
But who knows, people think MKXL was the final version of Mortal Kombat X, yet Ed Boon has hinted that there might be more.
I say, as soon the devs confirm there won’t be more, then there won’t be more. But until that, then nothing is set in stone.

At this point, it somewhat feels like it.
And to be frank, I hope so.
I love KI as much as the next guy/gal. But, it seems like it has reached its peak and will slowly fade away (not in a bad way). But, it will leave a much needed break for the developers.
But, because we see the conclusion of this KI, I wouldn’t be surprise to see the follow-up. I mean, this game is already three years old despite being updated. Imagine what more it can be when rebuilt from the ground again. The characters, frame data, experience, etc. will still be there. IG would not just polish the game but design a new face for it. New animations, improved character designs, the works!
I feel as if KI has also reached an end point with the free to play market and should at some point down the line become a game that can be up to par to MK and SF both fundamentally and visually in it’s own true release. Again, I don’t say this as an insult, but realistically this game is utterly unknown when compared to MK and SF outside the FGC.
Imagine, Killer Instinct (insert sequel title), 16 characters on launch; select returning cast like Jago, Fulgore and Spinal. New animations, ultras, ultimates, stages, moves, costumes, accessories, modes, original characters and more. Additional content like expansive customization options and 8 additional fighters including the Kiets . All available as a full game for 2018, be ready to FIGHT ON! …if only it were more than a dream.

I almost cried because we didn’t have Eyedol to make sure that this is the definitive edition let’s hope that this monster will appear in season 3.

Well, this definitive edition sure sounds like the last season. I think that’s good, leave off on a good note. let story mode take care of what characters return, they continue support with S3 with minor stuff like bug fixes, cosmetic stuff. Everyone wins. I like it.
To be honest, I dont mind Season 3 being the last. Why do I need more characters when I cant learn fckin three properly (cinder gives me cancer, lvl 50 and still suck FOR FUSK SAKE! sry)
If this is last season, 8th character has to be Eyedol.

So if I had to guess that survey wasn’t for a season 4, they were plans and ideas for a potential seqeul?
I dont think there will be a full Season 4 in the future if they are releasing the definitive edition. There has to be something coming up if they made a poll for future content but now I think it leans more towards KI 2 or maybe a mini season before KI 2.
It’s curious that it says “all 26 characters” though, meaning the bonus characters (Kelvin, Sharkman, Ent, etc) will be separate.

and they would have a little more than 1 year, or maybe two years to let it ready!
And no one spoke about KI2, or only KI2. Can be just a “remaster” for Scorpio with new seasons there.

If season three is the last, let me put it this way: Eyedol BETTER be the last character or else there’ll be an angry backlash. Please, @rukizzel @MicrosoftStudios & @TempusChaoti don’t ■■■■■us fans over with the last character. Add Eyedol in and we will have all the original cast in the finished product.

Well despite how their business models go with MK…I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped support for it when I2 comes out.
Unless Jade, Rain, Reiko or Skarlet is in KP3, then I’m ready for the next game. 
Kinda feel the same about KI, actually. Though Tusk and Mira are awesome, I’m rather disappointed with Season 3, and I’m ready for the game to end and the next game to be worked on.
