So, I think Capcom's at it again

from what i read on games forums nobody believes that so its not just me. I agree with both your points, but none of them is proof for capcom not being able to develop SF on their own.

I wouldn’t say nobody because I have seen plenty who do I do not use neogaf or see stuff about SFV on here so I don’t know but I am sure people have different opinions of course. I agree SFV would have happened eventually but maybe not as soon as we got it, but who knows right? That is all just speculation on my part.

Regardless of who funded SFV though in my opinion I would say Sony maybe as more influence in the business model of how it is advertised and schedule more so than or just as much as Capcom.

most launch titles extend out 3 to 4 months after the console release and are still considered launch titles. it’s was however one of the first significant updates for KI in early 2014

SF5 wouldve happened but much later down the road. sony helped fund it, that much is obvious.

Ya he’ll probably come out next week and ‘steal’ some of KI S3’s thunder. Both games can coexist though, so it’s not that bad.

Played a few games on brothers PS, it’s not bad but I think I’ll wait for the Ultra Edition.

lol. really? MS funded rise of the tomb raider and locked it down for a year. you can bet your sweet potatoes that the only reason square didn’t is cause it started off as a PS exclusive. street fighter on other platforms and then going exclusive to PS is a slap in the face for people who supported the company on different platforms. stupid dead rising 3 started the war for current gen. then we all lose in the long term

I do not get your point but okay.

LOL. ok yeah, lets give him short spikey hair…with bangs longer than his face. then lets darken his lips so it looks like hes wearing lipstick too. way to go design team. way to ■■■■■■■■■ go.

He doesn’t have an imposing presence like he does in 3rd Strike.

Hm, for all the good Sony’s funding has apparently done, SFV still turned out to be a poverty game. It probably would’ve been better off launching in 2017 or 2018, since they clearly weren’t prepared to put the resources behind it to get a big enough team on-board to put out a “complete” (or hell, even robust) game by February 2016, and they weren’t willing to explore a different business model a la KI.

Regulars here will know that I am highly sympathetic to game developers and the industry in general, so I hope it hits home how ludicrous I think this whole SFV debacle has been.

Alex among other things is supposed to released be on the 28th or 30th.

Not enough for me to enjoy Street fighter anymore tho.

Edit: Alex is on the 30th. Update is 28th

is it official? Did Capcom say something?

thanks man:)

No problemo.

I only care to play SFV online, so I am a lot more forgiving. But I think it is a victim of the transition going on between digital distribution game “platforms” (i.e. The KI model) and traditional physical game media distribution. Ironically, the fact that SF is such a popular game is actually hurting it here. If a smaller game released like SFV then people would have fewer issues. Having said that, I think the price tag is too high for the current release. At the very least they should have gone $30 with a $20 “season pass” or some such. Just wait until people realize they have to win 1000 ranked matches to unlock a costume and 3000 to unlock one of the new characters…

What is also clear to me is that Capcom is in even worse shape than I thought and Sony didn’t contribute all that much to the games development. I would be surprised to find out that SFV had a significantly higher budget than KI.

for sure they messed up the pricing… look what you get for 50€ with KI supreme pack…
