Me: Shin Hisako is not an original character, IG is reusing assets already in the game for this character, and I choose to call these for clone characters.

If you are focusing on me using a term you disagree with, then you are focusing on the wrong thing.

Again, disagree with the term all you wish. But it is what it is.
Just to clear up some things, here’s what I wrote in another thread:

Iron Galaxy did NOT kill Killer Instinct. They took what Double Helix revived and made it even better. Killer Instinct is an awesome fighting game and I am so happy the franchise was revived.

That doesn’t mean everything in the game is perfect though! The game has many flaws, and there are things in the game I do not agree with, such as the clone characters, guest characters, the different story modes for the different seasons, the fact not all characters will get Ultimates…

To roll it around though, that doesn’t mean I hate the game! IG made some decisions I don’t agree with, but the game is still good! And Iron Galaxy did an amazing job, imo. I just wish they did some things differently…

I mean, come on… Shin Hisako? Just like I said with Kilgore, I understand why they are making these clone characters… it’s cheaper and it’s easier to grab some assets already in the game and alter them to make something different. But thing is, it isn’t what I personally like. I want unique and new characters, I want originality, I want entirely new designs. IG gave us that in Season 2, and it was absolutely awesome!

To me, this shows that the game is at its last breath. These clone characters are just something extra, its what they can afford to make within the end of the game’s life. It’s like they just want to add SOMETHING, so they are trying to claw at the last bits and pieces left to do that.

It’s disappointing to me. But it is what it is.

So you’re all over the place with your definition of clones. I can’t tell if you think clones just look alike, or if they play too much alike, or share some arbitrary percentage of new versus old.

Let me simplify this for you then…

Reusing assets already in the game to make a “new” character = Clone character.
Because they copy/pasted something from another character, repainted it and called it new.

Yes, Shin Hisako will have some new things. Just like Kilgore had some new things that Fulgore does not have. And same with Shadow Jago. But it’s all under the spectrum of what makes a clone character.
