Humor me, since you seem to love force feeding us your “woe is us” song and dance. Where was I wrong?
Less Stages is Less Content
No Classic Game is less content.
It should have been priced less, since it offers less. I am not sure how that is hard to understand?
NOT TO MENTION season 2 ultra was 36 dollars if you prepurchased it, so it was CHEAPER AND HAD MORE CONTENT.
So, costume content for all characters doesn’t count as content? Especially when it’s about as important and impactful to gameplay as stages and ancillary games?
You mean the same costumes we got in season 1 and 2, the only real content season 3 is getting that s1 and 2 didn’t get is the colors, and 8 colors doesn’t make up for 5 less stages and no classic game or a lower price.
I don’t think that’s a thing. We’re just getting an extra color for season 3 retros.
Correct.
I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were the judge on what content is actually content.
MIcrotransactions isn’t content. Its stuff used to unlock content faster. The colors are content, stages are content, and the classic games are content. Seems like all you want to do is argue, I have no interest in that.
My point is that your relative pricing ideas are crass and irrelevant to the bigger question of whether this specific offering is worth the price tag. Teams of programmers and artists and designers and QA people and more slaved and probably crunched their arses off for probably less than their skills are worth to get that $40 Ultra bundle to market. And sure, it’s like that for a bunch of other games that offer more content for less, in some way or other – and those games were made by employees who were working constant health-threatening crunch and always living under the threat of layoffs. If you haven’t so much as written thousands of lines of code just to get a buggy top-view shooter to kinda work, then you have no credible reference point for how much this product is worth.
It offers less content then season 1 and 2, and isn’t priced accordingly. I don’t think it was an iron galaxy call, because I have to believe they are smart enough to realize it should have been cheaper, or at the very least had a preorder discount like season 2 did. And since the customers are the ones that give them money, i think customers have a right to say what stuff is worth, especially when they have 2 other seasons of content to compare said pricing to.
Then don’t buy it, dude. Maybe Microsoft will lower the price, or maybe they won’t.
But if you’re asking me to pit your $10 or whatever against the livelihoods of game developers, I know which side I’m on. You just don’t have that much of a stake in this.
As a paying customer, I have a stake. Gotta disagree with you, please don’t respond to this.
I was referring to the colors, not to the boosters and gold which are needless microtransactions. I also thought it had been written/hinted somewhere at additional colors for the previous characters which would qualify as additional content, but I can admit I may have been mistaken.
As much of an egg on my face as that would be, your actions in the past few days have abundantly proven that you, as much as anyone else, are interested in arguing and making sure that everyone agrees or concedes to your point. However, outlining explicitly the rights that the Ultra Edition grants you does not paint the factual picture, a point you seem to love bringing up. Past what is included, Season 3 Ultra, Combo and Supreme editions are the revenue that comes in to recoup the budget that was used to produce Season 3. So yes, the Ultra has the “lesser” content. But it is also paying for the PC port, the additional modes they’re currently working on, the rebalance patch and the aesthetic and online tweaks they have tried to work into the game to bring it up to the standard they want to present it at. It is also footing the bill on any non-community fund scenarios that they will explore as part of a continuing Season 3.
I have no interest to argue, just to get my opinion out there on the matter, and defend my opinion to those who wish to undermine it. I am not happy about the pricing, but I can’t really see much of a reason to debate anything you just said, because you didn’t insult me much. I just feel the pricing isn’t quite right, but I am still very much excited to see what Iron Galaxy does.
I still question your feelings about “argument”, but that’s neither here nor there. I just want to make sure that at this point we’re on the same page. You’ve stated your point and I’ve stated mine. And we’re just going to let that be for now because there hasn’t been a large amount of insulting either way. And you still have faith in Iron Galaxy despite your feelings of being cheated as a consumer, even though that faith should be enough to encourage you to exercise patience into Season 3’s launch to see what sort of things they will be providing to the player base that still falls under the $40 price tag?
I tend to be a glass half empty guy, hence my worries. I hope I get proven wrong though.
Oddly, the glass half-empty viewpoint suddenly made it all make sense. I still disagree, but I get where you’re coming from now.
Regardless, I hope you’re proven wrong too. Not even out of meanness, but just to put to bed the smorgasbord of unhappiness and weariness on these boards.
I am sure Iron Galaxy will deliever a good season, and maybe even get my views on the pricing to change, that being said, Tuesday is going to be a good day to be a gamer, both for Fighters, and for fans of Telltale games… cheap plug for the walking dead michonne and minecraft story mode.
So I’m assuming when you say “early access” you mean that people who didn’t preorder will have to wait later on to get it from the Xbox store?
Nope. Check out the FAQ in the bottom portion of this article. Killer Instinct Season 3 Pricing Details - Killer Instinct
When we say early access we mean to the 4 characters set to release in the coming months.
