S3 is good but could have been better

Obviously there are a lot of different factors that come into play when dealing with a company and their budget for a particular game of theirs, but in reality I do think it’s fair to estimate that MS has plenty of money that they could devote to KI if they chose to. One thing in particular that I think they could spend more money on is the marketing for the game, which has been, in the nearly three years the game has been out, virtually non existent.

KI’s advertising has been fine, they advertise it where it needs to be advertised: on the Xbox One. Hell when season 3 came out for like 3 weeks straight or longer they had an ad for it right on the XB1 home page. I have heard it be said before that those ad slots on the XB1’s home page are prime ad real estate, and I tend to see KI featured somewhat regularly.

I guess I just miss the days of games having commercials on tv lol.

They still do just not as much as before. Now it’s mainly for the AAA titles.

I miss all those classic Mega Man commercials, like…and…I think 5…
…nope, capcom didn’t advertise it on TV…probably because Nintendo Power and Captain N were doing a good enough job of advertising it.

I get what you’re saying, but in all honesty TV’s not what it used to be, especially among the demographic that would be playing KI.
Also, I think a KI commercial would be awesome.

…on the other hand it could turn out like this:

They should make a wicked animated Killer Instinct movie and put it on Netflix…cant think of anything else that will get the brand name out more to people of the Killer Instinct playing age.

Lmao that was crazy. But yeah I personally know a lot of people who don’t even have cable, and just watch Netflix and stuff like that, so yeah having a tv commercial wouldn’t make a difference really.

Nintendo had some crazy advertising when Sega started moving in on their market share with their “we’re more mature than Nintendo” campaign back in the 90’s. The results were weird at best and gross at worst. IMHO the worst offender was Yoshi’s Island.

-Hey we have this new Mario spinoff game featuring his cuddly little dinosaur buddy and a baby Mario strolling through a coloring book-like world. What would be the best way to advertise it?

-I know, lets show a fat greasy guy in a bar stuffing his face as fast as he can until his stomach literally explodes and its contents go flying across the bar hitting everyone in the face.
