I would like to get some developer feedback about the state of this bug that is breaking the game for numerous characters. I feel the bug is important enough to the enjoyment of the game that it needs to be hotfixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, it will continue to affect match outcomes, both in casuals and in tournaments, and leave a bad taste in the mouths of KI players everywhere.
Is a hotfix planned for this very important issue? Can the devs give us a timeline for when it will be fixed?
(If the devs have commented on this already and I missed it, please let me know!)
They were aware of it from day 2. After the numerous topics about it since SL launched officially. They just never said anything. How do I know this? Because I made a topic about the fireball bug a month ago and they never chimed in to say anything about it. BUT…in this patch (3.4) they stealth fixed it without saying a word.
I understand your frustration. I’ve answered a lot of forum questions over the last two years… I just can’t get to them all since we’re busy making the game. If you don’t get a reply to something that’s super important, just keep pinging @rukizzel - he’s the community manager for MS and he’s here to help.
Oh no, I’m not frustrated at the whole “don’t reply instantly” thing because I’m aware you guys are busy making the game. That’s fine, that’s understandable. No problem. I’m just more frustrated with the bug itself since you know…it sucks big time.
But yeah you guys did stealth fix the fireball bug so…I can’t really be mad at anything. You guys have said time and time again “we do listen” but you never did state “we talk back”. Kinda like a one way conversation. But in a good way.
To add on to @BlitzedKraig’s point we see everything you post. Sometimes there aren’t any immediate answers while the team investigates. I can tell you that this bug has been logged in the reporting thread, and that post has been seen.
I can also say that this thread has been seen before Kraig or I even replied. You may not hear back immediately on something, but that is simply because we do not have the answer, but rest assured that we hear you.
Once I do get word back from development of a fix, we will relay that info to you, promise.
Oh actually @BlitzedKraig since I have your attention or @rukizzel for just this one sec. Is the exemplar guardian still able to parry combo breakers? Or was that taken out for the official launch? I can’t seem to be able to do it anymore.
I can confirm that Rukari is super punctual when they have the opportunity. I remember a few months back there was an issue with the Ultra-Combo Forums I reported and he had it fixed within the hour.
As soon as a fix is ready, we’ll know.
I appreciate the replies. I know you guys are reading the forums and have seen the bug mentioned numerous places before. I was just hoping you’d have word on whether you are at least planning to hotfix it, and a ballpark date (a week-ish? a month or more? etc).
I decided to bring it up in a special topic because I wanted to stress that this issue is very game-breaking and IMO needs more attention than a standard bug, and was wondering if the devs see it the same way or not.
Glad you are able to work around it in some situations, but it doesn’t lessen the severity of the issue.
Anyway, if the devs are unable to provide more info at this time, then I guess we’ll just have to wait. I was just hoping it would be treated with more urgency due to how serious it is and how often it affects many characters. If fixing it in the new input system is time-consuming or difficult, then reverting to the old input system for the hotfix patch while they take their time on the issues in the background seems like it would be best for the players.
I can tell you this much, @Infilament, we are planning to fix some bugs before 3.5. When will that interim build come? Not set yet. We make sure we didn’t create 100 other bugs by fixing one, then of course cut a build, get it sent off for testing, verify, then package it all up to deploy to everyone else.
A few steps where something may arise, so that’s my long way of saying “unclear at this time.” We do completely understand the severity, however, and are working hard to make it right.
