Apologies, “slandering” was the wrong word. I know its your opinion but what you say doesn’t provide different insight than what a lot of people before you has stated, it becomes repetitive and frankly annoying. Yeah, it does I won’t disagree but you said “what’s the point”, thats the point. Just to hear the theme even if it may not have a stage. Also, sorry you got the wrong impression but I wasn’t referring to you about the season failing, I was referring to an earlier post and referencing that to contrast the use of exaggeration, didn’t mean to make it sound like you said it. Not necessarily a go at them but you have frustrations that aren’t fully justified yet. What if the trade off is something entirely intuitive and really helps mend the pain of no stages? We don’t know. Believe me I wanted Ultimates and Stages, I took the news hard but I have faith in this team so the trade-offs, may just be worth it. It still is too early to say though.
It’s OK. I understand, I just love having stages for everyone. Sf2 got it into my blood that everyone fought on home turf and that their theme goes hand in hand.
When sf and other fighting games did away with stages for everyone it annoyed me and when ki came along with everyone getting a stage my passion for fighting games came back dunno why.
The stages are my favourite part of the game along with the soundtrack. It’s weird I know, I still don’t tire of the soundtrack.
I don’t want ki to fail it’s a fav game of all time.
That why I’m frustrated. I’m sure they have something up their sleeve but to me it’s a blow.
I’ve seen some of the people blowing up in here going off the deep end.
I try to keep things in context
Its cool man, ppl feel the way they do and sometimes things come out wrong.
I’m having trouble with the idea of three stages too, to me everyone (that matters to the KI world) should have one, I think I got it from SF2 aswell. Stages to me are an important part to the game and are one of the things I’m looking for most besides the characters themselves, even more so then the awesome music.
For example, I love Hisako, but I doubt she would have worked aswell as she did without her stage. Her stage to me was way more important to her character then her music.
But that said, its a preference for ‘me’. Other ppl understandably have different opinions.
I personally couldnt care less about ultimates and eyedol would be nice but is not a big deal to me. So to each there own.
I was just thinking, maybe the three stages thing does make sense from a story POV…I mean, Gargos invades, perhaps a few minions follow, & they scatter all over the world to secure key locations…Like Devil’s landing (fitting name, lol), Saberwulf’s castle, Ultratech Headquarters, & where they go, shadow follows, kinda like how Jago’s temple was overrun by Omen. It would be really cool if they had something akin to an actual Arcade mode where, similar to the original Street Fighter 2 was with Balrog, Vega, & Sagat, you fight each of Gargos’s minions one at a time on your way to take out the monster himself.
That’s why I said they could come through causing chaos to other places that’s why they don’t have stages.
When I first read about gargos’s Lords of shadow the 1st thought that came to me was, wouldn’t it be awesome in arcade mode you had to fight each one of the bosses to get get to the final boss.
Kinda like the 4 kings in sf2.
Thanks for the response man, you guys have knocked it out of the park so far so I trust you.
For me personally a stage is an extension of the character, imagine if Sadira never had a stage for instance. I can only speak for myself but one of the things I loved about the original KI was the fact each character had their own stage which told you a little bit about them.
This was improved upon with seasons 1 and 2 where the stages began to have a life of their own. a life that again was an extension of the character.
Stop doing that. Free yourself so you can enjoy whatever comes.
So… Seems KI Devs like give and take, huh.
Giving us those gorgeous lights on the previous stages, and only 3 news. THIS make me, at least, unconfortable, really worry, and a bit angry, i must admit.
i am on the side of peeps saying that a stage is a part of a character identity. I loved SF IV by exemple, but not giving each character a stage of its own, paired with his own music is quite a lack of taste and of identity.
DH and IG on the season 2 made the right choice, giving almost each KI characters his own stage, mirror of the character identity. NOBODY here can affirm that Aganos stage did not played a part in the stunned first impression -and more- for the character.
And here, we will be stolen of it.
Here, i have several problems with it :
-
3 new stages, and we already know two : kim wu and Arbiter. Is that impliying Tusk will be denyied of his ? If Gargos or Eyedol returns as the boss game, will they be denyied of a stage ? In the two situations, that’s unacceptable.
-
3 stages, and we already know two : is that impliying that Tusk excepted, all the others characters incoming are guests/shadow clones ? I will NOT very pleased by that.
3 stages, because it’s expensive. That is the line I can’t stand for. Guys (Ig and Microsoft) are fighting for make the game stand in front of the VS game scene, and the SFV Tornado in particular. The least devs have to do, is to do things BETTER than the rivals. Even if SFV produces crappy non inspired stages should not imply you have to treat this lighly.
And Microsoft, for god sake… You have a WONDERFUL game and a WONDERFUL community : treat them correctlyn please, and INVEST in the game. At the moment you are preparing to launch the game on PC, this is not the moment to give the haters (in the public AND in the press) arguments to ruin the real efforts.
So, i told it, i am disapointed. i will play the game day one, but this is a dumb move imo.
The thing is though that the problem solely isn’t money. Budget does not mean resource . All the money in the world cannot help you to build a pyramid by yourself with a hard time limit with no outside help
But look at it like this We knew Gargos wouldnt have a stage because he came through the portal. Rash also came through a portal. We only know of Arbiter Tusk and Kim Wu right now so those 3 are the ones getting the stages imo. Plus I think Dojo for all would be wayyyyy better than 5 more stages it helps people get into more characters that way look at it like you never had the game but it was someone you liked in the game and they actually show you how to use that person and with them changing the lighting you could say we got new stages anyway.
Bro yall have to remember its not always about the $$$$$$ you gotta have the time to do all of this as well for all we know the story couldve been redone in a way that MK does theirs so I would see why they didnt put more emphasis on stages. like Ive stated b4 Gargos doesnt need his own stage just his own music BECAUSE he came through a portal in a stage that already exists so it wouldnt make sense to have a stage because we all would be like if he was in the portal how did you get to here or whatever also you guys mentioned a sibling of S2 why would you make a stage for that person it wouldnt make logical sense
Every character will have his stage. Tusks stage is Spinals Stage covered in snow. im ok with that.
It isn’t, look out into the vista, there are mountains on the stage. Also I don’t think there are ships on Spinals stage. Also there is a polar bear.
If every character will have a stage with old ones being recycled then Rash’s stage would probably not even be close to anything inside his video game which are colorfull. Don’t see how they can do a turbo tunnel on any of the current stages.
Hold up is Tusk and Spinal the same person thats how he could fit in the timeline because he would be too old to be alive giving his time period plus look at the clothing he has on it looks like Spinals alts
They aren’t. Spinal isn’t a time traveler. Tusk, according to his stage, probably was frozen in time with the rest of those Vikings.
Thats what im saying after years it would begin to thaw and the dead bodies would begin to decay therefore leaving bones along the shore because it does look similar to Spinals stage and they already stated that time travel was dumb so explain how would Tusk survive so long because he looks like a Conan era fighter
Captain America freeze, that’s probably how Tusk is in the modern day. Also like I said, how could Tusk be Spinal if he is fighting Spinal. They can’t exist at the same time. Also, it was already confirmed how Spinal came to be. Read his character story.
I was thinking that too but well have to see who or what thawed him out lol
As long as Gargos and Eyedol as well as some brand new characters are there I can live with just 3 new stages. If not though… nah they wont fail.
