Would’ve been pretty cool had they actually made some of the silly props into real merchandise (the Kano Cereal especially )
Sorta how back then with Capcom doing a few for Street Fighter.
An MK variation feels like a no Brainer, considering red flavors.

On one hand I’m surprised he’s back because he was so much of a nothing character in MK11. On the other hand, they talked so much about all the tech they developed to make him and Kronika’s time powers work that I’m not surprised at all.
My hopes for Cetrion and Shinnok diminish.
Considering him and Lui Kang are now allies, maybe that means he’ll play a bigger role in the story than he did in MK11. Now no longer a tool for Kronika.
Hopefully he’ll even get his own chapter in story mode this time, rather than just being a total jobber.

I liked Kronika’s design much better too. And she was a powerful woman in MK which we don’t get much of. I mean on the level of like Shao Kahn/Shinnok powerful. It’s a new era, you can craft a new destiny for her too.
Im sorta on the fence with Kronika. She had a neat design, and was technically unique regarding the "reversing time’ aspect. However the amount of times she says “New Era” in story mode is enough to start a drinking game.
Plus we don’t really know what her New Era was supposed to even be or look like, unless I missed something.
I dont despise her, but her overall plan in MK11 didn’t really make much sense when you start to break it down. But again, Time Travel plotlines will tend to do that. Even if they went with Khronicle instead of her, it wouldn’t change the end result.
It is mostly just her design, personality, and powers I like. And that’s all you can really ask for in a fighting game character. Still wish you could have played as her in 11. Because it seems like the chances of getting a playable Kronika now are slim to none.
Shinnok is still considered a major boss. My guess is they would not have him unless a story involves him in a major role.
But everyone speculates Onaga is the next villain. But nothing definitively confirmed.
But stuff seems to gear towareds Shang Tsung or Shao Khan building up.
Maybe it was considered at one point much like the cyborgs and Ermac, but then again I guess she would’ve shared a lot of elements from Geras move wise, so they didn’t want to overlap on the time users.
Thats just a theory though.

I absolutely LOVE what they’ve done with Reptile!
Ashrah looks pretty cool, too. Not too sure about Havik, though.
I like the new one OK. I still prefer his MK9/MKSM/MKX design, but at least they didn’t remove his reptillian form.
Cause i would’ve been concerned if they made him human down to the cellular structure. But they did not do that thankfully.
Caus eI know when some ask for him to be human I know they are not trying to remove his reptillian origins from the lore. They just wanted something that was nostalgic.
Overall, I’m oka with it. Nice to see they made his reptilian form a core part of his design.
I think they could’ve done more for the designs of both.
For the human form they could’ve given him a better looking mask.
and I think they should swap the Sash and and his tabard colors.
For his reptilian form they could’ve given him abit more like a Baslisk traits.
But those are nit picks. But overall I still welcome him back.
I also noticed they borrowed a lot from the movie and conquest.
Because in those films Reptile and his people could change at will.
