Mortal Kombat 12

Not sure how to segue out of this pointless kerfuffle, so heres Bo Rai Cho puking up some peptic thunder.

Sums up everything nicely, I think.

No more of this.

Focus on topic guys

Agreed

Back on topic, I still think this rendition of Zebron would’ve made a badass addition to the games roster.

Perhaps they could’ve made it where after resetting the timeline, this spawned a plethera of new species from all over the realms, giving a proper explanation to why they never appeared in the previous timeline.

We have Nightwolf as a native shaman, Kotal Kahn for Aztecs, so why not have this guy represent african influence? Sort of the “Shaka Zulu” of MK

I think my only real issue with the kameos at the moment is the classic outfits. I know MK has been around for 30 years, but seeing these cool new character designs for Liu Kang, Kenshi, Kitana, Mileena, etc juxtaposed with 90’s ■■■ Sonya, Jax, Stryker… It just looks so jarring. I’m really hoping that they’ll also have modern looks you can use for the kameos.

I love MK. I’ve loved it since day one. I just really wish they’d tone down the nostalgia a bit. You could maybe argue that this game is coming out around the 30th anniversary so maybe it can or should lean in to the nostalgia a bit more but honestly, I feel like every game leans in to it and this one seems to be taking that a bit overboard. Hope I’m wrong. It won’t be the worst thing in the world if that’s how it plays out by any means, I’m just hoping it won’t.

Considering how much the recent NRS Trilogy relied heavily on MK1-3, I do have to agree. Granted we have gotten Fujin, Kenshi, maybe Frost to a lesser extent, but whoever started the whole "3d era=bad" mindset must’ve really hindered the creativity over there.

There was a lot of chances to being back characters who didn’t have a big fanbase to begin with. Hell, if Hsu Hao was actually taken seriously this time around, that could’ve been be pretty exciting. That they’re willing to give everyone a second chance no matter who they were. Instead, its only treated as a joke.

When MKX introduced the Kombat Kids, to me, that should’ve at least meant they’re starting something new. Letting the old characters fight one last time before the new age passes the torch, But then MK11 happened…and now we’re here with MK1.

Like they didn’t want to fully commit to it.

Thats partially why I hope we’ll be able to turn them off if we choose to. There a nice idea, but having it be mandatory is pretty weird seeing the designs clash with eachother. If we’re on a brand new timeline starting fresh, then why is the previous timeline invading without any explanation? Idk.

What do you think of these stories? I find millena, Kitana, and Sub-Zero and Scorpions pretty good. Though that’s due to relatability.

Still trying to get used to young Raiden. I know Epcar is gone, but I’m very curious how well they’ll portray him in the story.

Yeah, some of this is going to take some getting used to.

what’s even harder is if you wanted to talk to someone about the lore, especially after all the confusion.

Honestly I think my mind is always going to default to how these characters were in MK1-3/MK9. That feels like their iconic state to me.

Long as they dont back peddle this time, if they fully commit to the new changes, hopefully that won’t be the case.

I do find it strange how Johnny’s backstory mostly remains untouched, yet everyone and everything else got a complete overhaul.

Maybe jhonny’s story is a such apart of him as Millena and Kitanas connection are.

Gonna go slightly off topic here, but I just thought I’d gather some of the older rosters before their competition. Considering we’re still in the “E3” phase of
MK1, feels like an appropriate time.Think of it as the “evolution of pre build rosters”

Armageddon

MK4

mk4-dev03

Deadly Alliance/“MK Vengeance”

MKX back in 2014

MK9/2011

MK11

Current Time.

Idk, I just find it really fascinating how small the reveals were, seeing all those empty roster slots, but then seeing the final release’s being PACKED with faces.

My family and I have been watching this black comedy on HBO called “The Righteous Gemstones” and honestly I kinda want a character from the show in MK1 as a Kameo Fighter. Not as a main fighter. But especially with Kameo Fighters helping in the fatalities I just want a southern mega-church pastor played by John Goodman to show up and break Sub-Zero’s thumbs.

Does anybody know if there will be a normal 1v1 mode without Kameo Fighters in MK1? This will decide whether I am going to buy this game because I don’t like the idea of Kameo Fighters one bit tbh. : MortalKombat (reddit.com)

As of right now, Probably unlikely. But, Im hoping they do also.

If not, maybe they’ll just add it later via patches down the game’s lifecycle, kinda like how MK11 added tournament variations when the base game didn’t have any them.

Heres a character Im surprised nobody ever mentions, especially considering his role in the MKX comics. Whatever the hell happened to Forest Fox???

Seriously, even before the time reset, the guy could’ve been the “Ken” to Takeda’s “Ryu” sorta speak, plus with his mastering of both Shirai Ryu and demonic possessions by Quan Chi, we could’ve gotten a sick fighter, but I guess thats never gonna happen, unless Lui Kang pulls another deus ex machina out of thin air. Feels like such wasted potential.

(Mockup of what his MKX variations could’ve been like.)

Very curious, what’s the general outlook on this guy? Because I for one believe he well deserves a spot on the roster, or the very least, make him a Kameo fighter.

I say we got robbed.

Since Homelander has been mentioned to be one of the potential DLC guest characters in the future, they could always add Love Sausage as a cameo fighter:

Also the story is weird and Johnny Cage is lame now. I wanna go back to the old era.
