Frankly if it were up to me, I’d wish they’d just go the “Armageddon 2.0” route, scrapping variations into highly requested characters. But apparently kameos is what we’re given.
And if thats the case, Id prefer the vampire be playable over red Kitana.
Unless it ends up like Injustice 2 regarding overlapping pairs (Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing, Superman/Supergirl, Cpt Cold/SubZero, Black Adam/Raiden etc.)
hopefully they wont make reptile a chimp again. If it returns. Animals I can think of for some is as follows
Liu Kang: Dragon (Obvious)
Shang Tsung: cobra
Reptile: Lizard
Scorpiron: Scorpion (obvious)
Kitana and Milleena (an animal from their realm) Mileena’s is just more vicious.
kung Lao (Tiger)
Sub-Zero: (I’m thinking Polar bear or something)

If Animalities cant return because apparently “theyd have to make seperate 3d models for every fighter”, well then why not just make them a 2D overlay effect instead?
Saves them resources, and would still give characters a special finisher. My only other guess is they’ll still run out of animal ideas eventually.
Then theres guest characters… like what would a Peacemaker Animality even look like? A giant surfing penguin or something?
Still refuse to believe this movie even exists.

As someone who has done 3d modeling let me tell you that making a new model for the animality would not be a problem. You don’t need to make a morph target.
Instead you can have smoke or flame or what ever screen the model and with the character model hidden you would have the animal in place.
Heck the fiery snake you saw with Shang Tsung is not Shang himself morphing into it but a separate model.
Simply put there’s nothing to stop them f rom doing it. Kotal Khan showed that you can make it work. And the big cat from you saw is a seperate model from Kotals,.

Im just going off what they’re excuse is, much like how they keep saying Tag Team cant return because “Well the Charts said this, therefore we wont include it…” Just some really bizzare decision making over there.
I mean Kotal Kahn also did the same thing for 11 when he turns into a tiger.
My guess they just dont want Animalities to come back at all, for whatever reason.

- Mortal Kombat 11 made a brief “news” reference to Animalities where Sub-Zero basically transforms himself into a polar bear
- It’s actually WB Games/WB Game Studios and not NetherRealm Studios whom we should blame for all of the debable and fiasco that happened from them
I just wished Hara Kiri’s would come back along with Animalities.
And no, I do not count Quitalities, as funny as they are.

In terms of Kameo Fighters, would be really cool if they actually used characters from the very first MK comics.
Like Human Hydro…
Or even the first fusion character, Siang.
If they started going for deep kuts like that within the franchise, that’d be very appreciative.

I want a few of these guys as actual fighters. I feel like I should also remind people of Stan Looth, the Kombat Janitor.
Also, since I’ve got Street Fighter on the brain, it’s worth noting that the Street Fighter team have said in the past that Akuma would work well in MK and that would be so badass.

Apparently some news from Ed Boon suggests the new Scorpion and Subzero in this game are actually brothers this time. Very curious how they intend on playing this out.
Like is Kuai Liang Scorpion now? If so, what about Hanzo Hasashi? Idk, if it does end up being Kuai, thats gotta be pretty bizare having him pull off all of Scorpion’s moveset.
If this does end up being true, I have a theory…
Maybe Hanzo gets reworked as Smoke in this new timeline, but after getting killed by whoever in story mode, then Hasashi would be revived as the new Noob Saibot. Or perhaps even as… (Noob/Smoke?)
Its a stretch, but wouldn’t put it past NRS to do something like that if this is where they’re taking the story.

Honestly it would have made more sense to me if Bi-Han was Scorpion and Kuai Liang was Sub-Zero because then Bi-Han would just have become a different revenant other than Noob Saibot. But the current explanation… It just doesn’t make sense.
I mean the fact Scorpion will still have his fire powers despite still being alive is already raising an eyebrow from me.
Im guessing they’re implying pyromancers exist within the new Lin Kuei.
