I’m just saying. Vice versa to what you said earlier, you can’t speak as if certain things most definitely will happen either. People expected a Tag mode in Injustice and MKX, and were upset when there wasn’t one. The same thing can apply to Tekken’s additional game modes as well as Anna (even if she did get in later on).
There’s nothing wrong with wanting something. Just don’t go EXPECTING it.
So the kombat kast went to the 5th of february… same NRS people, bad organization and presentation. And they had two weeks to announce the change of the date, but they did it the last day. No wonder they have fatalities in their game. I am sure the kombat kast will be a failure. It will be just kabal’s reveal trailer and then bad vs games because lans doesnt know how to play.
The delayed it because of a dangerous storm. What, do you think they’re psychic?
I believe that they do not feel the people. If they did and they wanted to promote their game they would have given content every day. Plus the kombat kasts. Things for they people to talk and get hyped. Now they act like everything is a given and they are having their fun.
I dont care…my pint is if you can tell by looking at the character then why does it matter? Cant you just decide in your own mind that Kung Jin is trans? Or that LEatherface is trans?
I dont need to know if a character likes ketchup on his eggs or that he doesnt like being his natural born gender identity and is transitioning into the opposite gender.
And those comparing RACE to having characters that prefer or like certain things in their personal life is just not necessary to create a characters animations to reflect their likes and dislikes. UNLESS you put it in the story or BIO. NRS can put it in the story or bio all they want, not a problem…but when you are asking to create an animated character to reflect these things that is dangerous territory for that development company.
So dont get me wrong as in “I dont want this in the game”…I just personally think that trying to make an animated character to visually show these traits isnt necessary or likely to happen.
I mean, Id like to see a character that strictly likes women, Black metal, Xbox, coffee, xanax, and Bloodborne/ Dark Souls. But I see no way of them animating this or it even being necessary to the story of defending Earthrealm.

At least for a game, you want to keep the hype. Releasing new content to see is really nice, but you will run into the risk of seeing everything the game offers. It is kind of like watching a movie trailer that spoils all the important scenes, (COUGH Spider-Man Homecoming COUGH) and that’s no fun. If you see everything beforehand, what fun is that? You won’t get the full experience of finding out things yourself. You know?

Sigh…how am I being mean? Because I said I dont care in response to you saying that "If you only look at whats on the surface then why do you care? I answered your question with…"I dont care… but if…they do it it would need to be in the story or bio and very difficult to animate.
Also like I said you can take a characters bio and decide in your mind that they are trans or that they like hip hop until NRS says they dont.

Not trying to be crude but its a bit of a disappointment having waited two weeks for some new footage and more explanations of gameplay. Its only delayed by a week so its nothing really but I was really looking forward to this Kast.
That said, I hope they’re not too affected by the storm and everyone’s safe and sound through it.
Me too… I was super hyped for tomorrow. THe schools here in LA closed last night only to wake up this morning and there wasnt even any frost on the ground. My son was super mad he had to go to school since private school doesnt follow the rules of public schools. Public school stayed closed even though it was like -20 % chance of snow today. LOL
Im assuming in CHicago it must be pretty bad to shut down the NRS studio. THey probably have a lot of employees that have a long commute to work. Maybe on the train or public trans

This thread is about Mortal Kombat. Make a new thread for character representation and keep it there. The reveal is on February 5th and we need to focus on what going to be revealed.

You can’t just decide a preexisting character is trans when they’re not. That’s fanfiction, and your basically living a lie.
And speaking as someone who is transgender, that has a greater impact on my life, how I live it, and how people treat me than my taste in music or preference of condiments ever do. It’s important to MY story. And ideally it would be important to the story of whatever character they come up with. You telling me that something which caused within my severe depression and anxiety for years is unimportant is what’s mean.
And while you are right about it being hard, that’s no excuse not to try. Look at Thunder and Eagle in KI. There was no reason that they couldn’t just throw them in as the same characatures that they’ve always been but they didn’t. Because it was important to WHO they are. Not just what they look like. They actually met with representatives of the ACTUAL tribe they’re from and incorporated their culture into the game. They didn’t have to, but they did and that’s why it’s so awesome! Kung Jin doesn’t need to be gay for the story of the main game to be the way it is. But they did it anyway and showed that they cared.
And transgender people look very different depending on individual cases. Some look exactly like cisgendered people, others don’t. It’s a complicated balance of genetics, means, and personal preference. So yes, there is no obvious starting point like there would be with any other archetype. But that shouldn’t matter at the end of the day. They can do whatever they want with them! Give them any sort of powers, make them from any realm, make them if any race. As long as that part of their character is there and is important to WHO they are. Not just what they look like!
I really hope Kotal Khan makes it…I really like his look, voice, and style. One of the best characters NRS has ever made IMO. He would look so good in 11…especially his color scheme.
Reptile too…I dont hate Ermac, but it wouldnt kill me if he wasnt in 11, but his look and outfit is pretty Fn sick.
If you had to choose Ermac or Reptile who would you choose to be in 11?

I never said any of that… that’s in your head, not mine. I never used the word unimportant…I said its unnecessary to make a character visually look a certain way to represent what said character likes.
THis conversation is going no where…it has gone as far as it can go. I hope one day they make a character that covers everything you want it to be.

But Those examples could be utilized for characterization which is good for… Yah know a character’s character. The same goes for being trans.

Couldn’t they give some screenshots every day for each character, some teasers or anything for the people to have something? let’s say for Kabal, couldn’t they show some accessories everyday, or a skin, and at the end of the week his trailer, his moves and how he plays in general, instead of everything in one hour and nothing the rest of the time?
Learn to live with minor disappointment. They changed their schedule because of severe weather. You can live another week before seeing their reveal. It’s pretty childish to respond this way.
