Oh please yes! I love Shinnok. I’m upset they’ve never really done him right, but he’s undoubtedly my favorite MK villain. I SOOO want him back again!
Welp I’m glade you ahve hope for his return, so we have stuff form characters who are likely playable. We have characters who we don’t know are playable, and we also ahve stuff from characters that are playable.
Here’s hoping this means they are all playable.
Shinnok…?
Odd choice but ok.
This only shows some modifiers in the towers, it’s not a confirmation of playable characters. On the contrary, it might mean they won’t be on the roster. None of the character modifiers in MKX were. It might be different in MK11 though. We’ll just have to wait and see.
what about Triborg? There definitely were Cyrax and Sektor modifiers in mKX
I believe I have already expressed my opinion on Triborg.
If not, here it is:
Triborg was a means to an end, a way to make use of the variation system in MKX to bring us the cyber ninjas. He’s non-canon, I hope he stays that way and we never see him again. I do not want this to be repeated in MK11, I’d rather have Sektor and/or Cyrax.
I’m not asking your opinion on the character. I’m asking for clarification on whether or not he proves that characters with modifiers can be playable as well as his component parts had individual modifiers.
As for your other point though, the only place I want to see Tri-Borg come back is in crossovers. So we can pack in as many characters in it as possible. But in the mainline continuity, I’d rather just see Sektor more fleshed out. Even is Sektor isn’t as likely because Cyrax is apparently SOOO much more popular, if only among the devs.
That is concerning though. We see consumables that feature characters that are playable, yet they add these 4. It does make me worried though.
Ahhh, sorry then.
Well, yes and no, as it isn’t exactly Cyrax or Smoke. But I do see your point.
…
Also, here’s all the stages we’ve seen so far:
I’am hoping for it. I want Reptile as a playable character. It’s odd how we can’t confirm these characters as playable yet we see the same stuff on characters like BAraka’s flag and Reptile’s green ball.
Never the less I do hope he is playable, I dont want the base roster for this game dissappoint me like Soul Calibur VI did.
Skarlet looks really good, but I really hope they give her a long hair option. That would make her look like a million bucks.
I’m sure she will have some skins with red hair.
Hope so. I think I just really want long above all else. It makes her design look really nice.
Maybe you will get a skin with long hair. I’m personally not bothered by hair leingth, but hey, I know some feel differently about it.
Hopefully both are wishes will be granted.
I’'m still concerned about Reptile being playable personally.
The Spanish VA for Kung Lao and Reptile was complaining on twitter about being replaced. He’s in. I mean, come on, he’s the third ninja.
I know, but the dang modifiers is whats getting to me. We saw them summon an acid ball in of dynasty’s gameplay videos.

Then there’s this
Of course this one also shows Baraka’s flag and he’s playable so I still don’t know. The modifiers in IJ2 also used existing characters. this being an early build might just mean the characters aren’t ready to be shown so the attack itself is enough. This is by no means any indicator of characters returning or not returning.
Must be on Twitter because all the videos I’ve been watching don’t really have complaints as much as just talking about the mechanic.
They could use LT/L2 for it, its not particularly useful outside of tech rolls. We’ll have to see.
Definitely. Meeting the conditions and using them optimally will be a huge part of the game’s meta. Regular combos don’t do enough and there aren’t as many launchers even with Amplify as compared to MKX.
hmmm you make a good point. can you show me an example? like a screenshot?
Max and the YV crew talked about it at some length in their big post-reveal livestream, and I’ve seen the same comment from a few notable NRS players on Twitter. The big thing seems to be that the meter burn inputs aren’t consistent across even the same character, let alone different ones. I can see that being pretty annoying in general, but especially so in an NRS game, where people tend to play multiple members of the cast.
I honestly don’t see the point. It’s the meter burn mechanic just with the added element of a random button. It’s added complexity for the sake of added complexity. I’m struggling to understand why this would be a thing in the first place.
