LCD Opens Up About Everything (Survey Feedback)

As a new S3 player I had high hopes of playing with the community that made s1 and s2 fun to watch on stream. But it’s like I’ve come into a group that gave up trying to take anything into the lab and figure ■■■■ out. I don’t even think we’ve seen the full potential of S3 but everyone is calling everything OP or wanting nerfs. S3 has only had about 3 or 4 majors so far and I think we’ve only scratched the surface. The community needs to get back to actually playing instead of doing all the hardcore theory fighting.

OP has quite a few likes. Wonder what exactly they like about LCD post. I agree with many conclusions (dlc opportunities, Kim’s design, and a few more) but not for the reasons stated. Still 22 likes is a lot afaik.

Sigh. This is just a cry for attention. I honestly do not see what you’re trying to get out of this post. Surely nothing good will come from it. You’ll have people rallying behind you because they agree and/or your supporters of yours. You’ll also get many that disagree and by doing this you’re causing a further divide in the community.

I’ve watched lcd’s stream for a long time. He’s called the game trash on countless occasions. He thinks the guest characters dont help the game but at the same time he’d be happy with Joanna dark. A character that hasn’t been relevant for over a decade.

If you’re not attending Evo then fair enough. You’re an adult at the end of the day. Do what you want. You keep reiterating it over and over again. Always everything revolves around lcd. You’ll be back and this drama will seem laughable by then.

Lemme just point something else out.

All the problems I’m seeing in this post were also complained about in S2 as well.

-“New mechanics are stupid”
-“Maya/Aria has the worst shadow counter in the game”
-“The costumes suck”
-“This character is unviable”
-“This character’s design makes no sense”
…And then you go ahead and say that S2 was great by the end of it. Great.

But lemme ask you something…

If most/all of your problems with S2 were fixed by the end of S2…

Why are you complaining about S3 as if it won’t end up the same way?

Is pessimism just a popular thing nowadays?

Unfortunately, yes.

So RAAM, Rash and Arbiter are not good… but Joanna Dark and Scorpion are good for some reason? OK…
I think that bringing guest characters for this game was a really bad decision… Why? KI never had a solid solid story to begin with what it had was cool unique characters… Instead of taking the opportunity to expand it with more unique characters we have 3 characters and a stage that has nothing to do with KI. I mean why should I care about KI story?
Really like the game but I wish they stop making these guest characters going forward.

What is there to expand? The story is pretty much over. Shadow lords is literally the last of the story talking about how how Aria teams up with the rebels and stops/ destroy gargos/ his invasion The story is pretty much over so why is the creation of guest charecter at this point in time a bad thing?

I don’t really want to pile on here - because although I disagree with a lot of what LCD is saying I don’t want to put it out here like we are trashing him or his thoughts on the game. He plays, he streams and he posts on the forum. So I know he is a big KI supporter and I think his comments should be viewed through that lens and given the benefit of the doubt whenever possible.

However, it’s worth it to mention that LCD was one of the (admittedly many) players who suggested during S2 that the constant tweaking and patching of the game was really bad for the scene. This was the “let it rest” camp who wanted the game to be “stable” for a significant period going into EVO. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable point of view. But for S3 MS and IG have really toned down the patching and tweaking and we have a very overlapping set of people now demanding more nerfs/buffs and tweaking. I think if Kim Wu was released at the beginning of S2 they might have significantly modified her gameplay after 90 days. And then everyone would have complained. So there’s more than a bit of a catch 22 going on with some of these things.

Be creative!

When the story is finished that’s it it’s finished…anything more is shoehorning irrelevant random charecters in that won’t have as much of a role or impact in the story as it is now.

No good author would introduce a new charecter at the final confrontation with the big bad guy.

Thank you sir for putting words into my mouth. In the three years that I have been streaming this game not once EVER have I said the game was trash. I’ve always had problems with the game sure but overall KI is certainly not trash.

It’s almost as if you didn’t even read the original post here.

I want Joanna dark for sure, but going off my own logic, yes, she isn’t going to bring in new players either it’s just for fun.

Your entire post in this thread has been discredited.

Okay LCD, play the victim. I know you’ve called the game trash/garbage on numerous occasions. However I have no proof so it’s your word against mine.

I honestly watched you’re stuff for a long time. It was one of the best quality streams but eventually I had enough of you moaning about the game. You still have plenty of supporters and I wish you all the best with KI in the future.

Also, the fact you are arguing with me is proof that creating this thread will do nothing but divide the community even more like I’ve already stated. Good job on that. Enjoy the drama.

BTW thanks for “discrediting” my comment. Appreciate it. What I was referring to with the guest characters is that you don’t believe RAAM or arbiter bring an audience into the game and that you would be happier with Joanna dark. A character i’d love to see too. But at the end of the day she hasn’t been in a game for ten years and even then it wasn’t well received. How is that going to grow KI more than characters from microsofts biggest franchises.

To me it seems that LCD doesn’t want what’s best for KI. But instead LCD wants KI to be best for LCD.

Okay buddy.
Good day.

:thumbsup::punch:

For real though - and not to rub @Fnrslvr the wrong way (because he really is one of my favorites) - but what I see offline is a stark contrast to what I see online. Not that people behaving badly on the internet isn’t an issue in this community - it most certainly is - but I would definitely encourage anyone losing faith in the community to attend a tournament and play some KI with people who also love the game, in person.

In a sense, isn’t saying what you want out of your game is just expressing your opinion on what you think is best?

LCD has opinions like everyone else. Why should he be bashed by you when he’s going on the forums to spread his opinion like he’s supposed to?__

One may or may not appreciate the way LCD delivers his thoughts, but he’s most certainly brought them to the right place.

Hah, I’m not sure why this would rub me the wrong way.

It it pertains to my previous post in this thread, that had more to do with people taking “the community is toxic” as an indictment of (all of) its internal moving parts, as opposed to what it really is, i.e. a reporting of peoples’ experiences in interacting with it. I think if you have to try to hold parts of the community aside and say “this part’s good, don’t tar it with this toxicity talk!” then you happen to be doing so in the most honest and useful way possible: separating the experience of the offline scene (as very much positive) from the online experience (as frequently toxic). That’s useful for someone deciding whether and how they want to continue to engage with the community (indeed you’ll find Keits at offline events socializing with players, but he’s done with Twitch chat), whereas “these people aren’t the ones ruining it” is not.

If you’re referring to something I wrote a while ago on the other hand, it could be my thoughts on the wider FGC you’re recalling. I do still think offline FGC events have huge problems, and it’s not hard to track down evidence of that.

TBH I’m glad I’m not the only who thinks that. There is honestly no point in continuing it any further. That’s pretty much my main concern about Eyedol’s inclusion but that’s a different topic.
