I’m excited for this game. The graphics have vastly improved since the first trailer, and the game-play looks good.
Sylvie though… I’m not digging the design, at least some of her moves look cool.
I showed the character to my GF to get her reaction, and she said “MR. KRABS?!?!”

I like anime, I like Japanese designs, but sometimes they spit out something crazy that just doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere… Sylvie is one of those designs, imo.
I agree, I like anime, but I don’t think they are the end all be all of character design. I knew some people that thought that anything made in Japan was automatically good and superior to anything else.
Character models still look poor, but facial expressions and DM animations are looking great. Oh, and I don’t mind loli characters like Sylvie, but man, her outift is way too cluttered. Looks bad.

Luong looks freaking cool, both in appearance and fighting style! Seems like Nelson is taking Shen Woo’s spot as the new boxer. And Athena… well, she looks like a schoolgirl like in so many other iterations. I prefer her KOF’02 costume the most out of all of them. ^^
yeah, I always preferred her over Sakura and Karen. The boyish type girls in SNK games appeal a bit more to me than the ones Ono loves (lol). I wouldn’t say SNK artists have more talent, but I think they have more talent (double lol) even if a character is a rip off.
Athena is an awesome character and fun to use, and I do like how she changes costumes for (almost) each game, using her fashion sense as a pop idol… but I’m tired of the whole schoolgirl outfit thing, hence why I liked her '02 version the most. She’s first and foremost a Psycho Soldier, and the '02 costume is a cool mix of the two styles she’s mostly known for.
