speak of issues as a colleague and not a angsty tumblr rant. Simple enough… I guess
Thanks so much for taking your valued time to speak to the matter.
Cannot wait to see her final tweaks!
This image. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Just because the developer responded to a single post doesn’t mean they haven’t read anything else - it means they are human beings who don’t have the capacity to respond to literally thousands of disparate posts about all manner of things. I tagged Keits the other day in a post on the Hisako forum to ask about a bug fix and he didn’t answer. It’s ok. I don’t take it personally because I trust that he saw it, and realize that it is not his solemnly sworn duty to respond anytime I ask a balance question about my character.
And I just want to point out that @TempusChaoti is responding in this thread at 9PM Eastern Standard Time, after working what I’m sure was a long and (hopefully) productive full workday. On a Friday night. The devs do care, and they do listen to us - they would just prefer it if people actually talked to them like human beings, instead of mindless game-making robots whose sole purpose is to please and delight their betters.
And for the record, IG has listened to the community on any number of things, including return to neutral after breaking, removal of instinct-cancel->shenanigans, Maya’s braindead DP, TJ’s insane original tremor, Omen’s mask (yes it was changed), and any number of other items. A whole lot of those things that people saw in the S3 updates were things that were suggested or asked about right here on the forums. I’d be willing to bet the KI team is one of the best developers in the business, period, at listening to and responding to their community’s feedback.
It’s not logistically possible for a dev to personally answer every gripe that each and every one of us has, and the fact of the matter is that opinions on none of these things are as cut and dry as people here have made it seem. Not everyone hated Jago’s hair, and not everyone thinks Kim Wu is ugly (I certainly don’t). I actually did hate Jago’s hair for the record, but I also got over it. Not everything is going to be changed exactly the way you (generic you, btw) think it should be changed, and people should recognize that. The developers have their own creative vision as well, and even if you don’t like that vision, you should challenge it respectfully and constructively.
Just curious, Why do you and others seem to have a problem when just a little profanity is used?
Because you don’t have to use profanity to get your point across. Swearing isn’t constructive, doesnt add anything to a debate.
What a silly question…wouldnt you want to be adressed with respect, or at least in a good natured/helpfull way? If you dont, I dont know what else to say…
Topic creators post has merit, but was in a egotistical I dont like! I want way! And I expect…! Kind of way…He was being entitled, which he is not. I understand he wants the best, we all do. To be honest, I really like Kim Wu’s face, but I didnt go around here telling everyone to get in line with my way of thinking, simply because it is ‘my’ way of thinking, and I can understand someone feeling different, it would be a boring world if everyone thought the same, really…
The one thing we can do however, is decide how we approach people with our opinions. And that is all ‘most of us’ are asking. We are a civilized world (mostly) after all, am I right?
Well using profanity in conversation in real-life doesn’t bother me, Cause I use it to. And I also had a bit of a problem with Kim’s face at first, but not anymore.
I understand what you mean, It’s just that people who get bothered by it being used in conversation with them makes the bothered person seem weak in a way to me.
I use it in work when I’m messing about but when I’m addressing someone I show them respect and hope to get it back. It’s not about being weak I don’t think, it’s about the respect you give to someone when you talk
In that case I’d want to ask about your opinion on Orchid’s face. We all have seen the promotional shots of her, and the models are in-game.
Orchid’s model looks like this:
this face is gorgeous, the detail is awesome, super well done, realistic face, lips have volume, eye liner on point, detailed nose, beautiful eyes.
why, then, does in-game Orchid look like this?
flat face, sausage lips, no volume on cheeks, overdone makeup, low poly nose… the model is supposedly the same as in the promotional images. Why does it look so worse?
I’ve always asked for Orchid’s face to be remade, but the promotiuonal shots do really show that her face is perfectly good.
Why doesn’t that model transfer correctly to the in game image of her? What is the issue?
Its not that I, or most other ppl never use profanity etc. Its just that we are selective about it. Like during an exiting match for example.
I wouldnt use it to my boss (might very well get me fired), wouldnt use it to my parents who lovingly raised me, wouldnt use it to a stranger, because they might have a problem with it (religion/way they were raised/etc).
This is Adam (aka TempusChaoti).
Adam is here to remind us to address the problems respectfully and be curtious to one another’s own opinion as long as it relates to the topic and builds constructive ideas for the game.
BE LIKE ADAM.
Because profanity never adds anything of value to a conversation. It’s low-brow shock value meant to attract the kind of attention that should be earned through respect. Proper constructive criticism & intelligent conversation is what earns the kind of respect that people willingly give their attention to.
Not trying to sound all holier than thou or anything, that’s just my opinion.
Sausage lips! Lol. Her lips are identical. Promotion shot are exactly that. Every game does it.
While I agree she could be touched up in the face, it’s that hair that pushes me over the edge. Linguini hair to go with the sausage lips lmao
So what about the splash in the puddle ? Kappa
