Killer Instinct VS Mortal Kombat

If this were to ever happen, please have Tag Team Fatalities and Finishers…

Once again I would love to see this. I think it could fit , I love MK story and I love both games characters. The biggest question is which gameplay will they use. I prefer KI for sure. I love MK for having fun! I feel the characters are very charismatic, but I don’t play competitive . Oh, and the fatalities from MKX are just too much for me honestly…It’s not blood what attracted me to the game the first time, Scorpion was =3

But if NRS made it then we’d get NRS gameplay… And limited combo breakers and yeah…And everyone would be human in fatalities (ie bones, organs etc etc).

This game could be just epic. Please Ed Boon & Phil Spencer. Xbox Scorpio are heading this way and this would be a great launch title to push fans with the new Xbox.

I’m totally all for a KI vs. MK crossover fighting game so let’s do it. Make it happen too   :sunglasses:

TBH Killer Instinct vs Street Fighter would be more suitable in regards of fighting system and age rating.

KI would not fit in SF at all. The tones of the two games are much too different for a crossover. Not to mention it’s rather off putting when you have an all human cast going up against a cast with dinosaurs, robots, ghosts, (non-human) demons etc.

Plus a good number of the cast uses weaponry, something (unless you’re a bad guy) SF generally considers taboo.

MK also has 95% of characters antropomorphic…

Still a more diverse cast than SF

I disagree on diversity. MKX roster is very homogenized. 20% cast ninjas, 25% military grunts, 30% shaolin monks, few sorcerers, and some singular cases like Kano or Goro.

Values are not precise but u get idea.

Like why the hell there are both Cassie and Sonya?

I’d love to se eit happen, but I doubt it will : <

I’ll agree to some extant, but still not as bad as SF.
If I can put roster diversity in a graph from LEAST diverse to MOST Diverse. It’d go like this:

Street Fighter---->Tekken—>Mortal Kombat—>Killer Instinct.
(Why is tekken on the lower end you ask? cause it actually treats more exotic character concepts as just jokes and over time the series has become more or less human/humanoid ever since Tekken3 came and went)

I think the diversity argument can be made when accounting for the context of the games. SF takes place on Earth with normal fighters, so everyone is human, but MK has all sorts of realms and whatnot. Looking at it quickly, you can see MK has more inhuman designs, but if you think about the context, I think MK characters tend to be very lazy designs given the context.

Yes, we have human fighters like the special forces and monks, so it makes sense for them to be human. Then we have Shao Kahn the super powered ruler of Outworld. If I never played MK, I would think he was just a human. Then there are the Edenians like Rain and Kitana. They’re from another realm, but they look human. Havik is from Chaosrealm, but is a human looking with the lower half of his skull visible. Hotaru and Darrius (i think) are from Orderrealm, but they look like humans. Quan Chi is from the Netherrealm, but he just looks like a guy with white skin. Ferra looks like a littler girl despite being a monster of Torr’s species (even he just has a beefy sort of Zangief body with a sack on his head). Kotal looks like a human too, and even D’Vorah looks very human. Gods like Raiden look like humans with glowing eyes.

Well, sorry for the long list, but I just wanted to explain my take on MK’s “non-human” characters. Despite there being a handful like Onaga, Reptile, and Baraka (who looks very human for a monster), a lot of the characters that are technically not humans, actually end up looking exactly like humans. I don’t blame SF for having all humans when they’re shooting for Earth’s martial arts style characters (same goes for Tekken), but I do think NRS is very lazy when they’ve set up their world in a fantasy/scifi sort of deal like KI, but make the bulk of their non-humans look very human.

With superhuman abilities. If Tekken can crossover with its characters, so can KI.

Yeah…but Tekken’s cast is also 90 percent human with humaney looking characters much of the time and unlike KI treats their exotic designs as jokes…So tekken and SF I can see being more fitting cross over.

Personally I’m not interested in seeing a SF vs Killer Instinct cross over.

It would be absolutely awesome.

I’d be happy with some KI characters being in MK11.

Kitana vs Maya

The story would be great, considering most of the mk characters are revs and the mimics and shadow can stir up conflict and distrust between the mk nonrevs and the ki originals.
Aria might get the idea to try to lure out the elder gods to understand their power, or this takes place in a ki where gargos wins and most of the ki characters help gargos invade out world or something.
As for game play, KI has had a split in Fandom concerning ultimates and clone/remix characters. Being an mk cross over gives a good excuse to make darker ultimate as the game might have to be m rated (I mean ki kind of teeters the line any ways). And the remix characters can be variances like in mkx. This allows for more characters in a game with a limited slot.

I just took a picture of the Xbox dashboard- is someone at Xbox trying to tell us something???
