Killer Instinct Season 3 Ultra Edtion Details & Pricing

@rukizzel Just wondering if you knew why they are charging $40 for this season 3’s ultra edition, because with Season 1 and Season 2 if you purchased the ultra edition for $40 you got the original game KI 1 and KI 2, early access , and if you got the combo pack $20 you just got the updated game. Now there are no more original games so I can’t justify a $40 value when I got much more for the same money in past seasons. My suggestion would be to charge $20 for the ultra and $10 for the combo breaker pack, that seems fair to me since your not getting an additional game anymore.

So I pre-ordered already, and overall I’m mostly pleased with the package content but I wish it was better detailed.

Getting additional colors is neat, but how many and for who?
The KI gold is good enough value I guess, but what can we use it on if we already have all of the Ultra packs (past unlocking stuff early)?. And there was mention of the 18k being ramped down past launch? That wasn’t detailed on the store.
The eternal double XP that stacks with other bonuses is very very nice considering how painful the unlock grind is in KI.

Would have been nice to have some images attached to the pack and more info on the upcoming 4 characters, but that’ll probably be in the launch trailer so it’s okay.

■■■■ I was really hoping getting the game a week early was the $10 ultra perk.

Yeah I thought we got them early too, as the listing says the four characters are “AVAILABLE NOW” on the market.

So I own Season 1 Ultra, and Season 2 Ultra, where is my discount for being a loyal KI fan. I mean they gave us a deal on Season 2 if you owned Season 1!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Will show you shortly. Building that blog post now.

Hate to tell you this, but stay tuned. We have a little bit more time between now and launch for details.

The store has a finite amount of space. Thus my post which will come in a bit going in to further depth.

Alright thanks for the clarification, will be looking forward to the blog post that will detail those things.

No, you only need to do this if you want your xbox save to transfer to the PC. Right? @rukizzel

To be fair if you’re getting “much more” is very subjective.

Apart from the classic games the Ultra editions are the same, they give you retro costumes and premium accessories. S1 and S2 gave you that and one classic game. S3 gives you that and eternal double XP and 18k gold.

So you’re getting extra stuff for $40. Not the same stuff but extra stuff nonetheless. If you don’t care about the things they’re giving this time then don’t buy it but it’s not like S3 has less stuff, just different stuff.

I said from the get go that Season 3 should just have costumes, colors, etc. in place of a classic game. How could anyone complain about more content for Ultra pack owners? Plus we get early access. You know the drill!

We’re getting no extra game and 5 less stages than normal. This shouldn’t be $40.

Just wanted to chime in and say that, as a person who doesn’t play often (not too much free time on my hands) and doesn’t really enjoy online modes, permanent Double XP and 18,000 KI Gold is a GREAT OFFER. As you can imagine, I have the game since late 2014 and have not yet even gone above level 20 on most characters - would take me years of grinding to get all the accessories, since I don’t get to play often. This is good news for me! The only way it could be even better? Free S3 Soundtrack download codes for Ultra buyers!
But really, I am happy as is. Extra characters and stages would be awesome too, obviously, but they shouldn’t be made exclusive to Ultra buyers.

Awesome, thanks man, appreciate it.

IF there were to be future dlc that can be bought with KI gold only then that’ll be cool and make the 18k KI gold worth it. Although, since it is a pre-order bonus, such information should be in today’s blog post to add motivation to pre-order and get that extra KI gold (apparently on release the amount of gold you get is decreasing if you didn’t pre-order ).

Real dumb guys.

For the community supporting you guys for 3 extra seasons we should be rewarded not cut off. 40 bucks come on. AND only 3 stages? Come on IG! And no pre-order 10% bonus? I mean i wasn’t expecting 15-20 but at LEAST 30! Come on 40!

There should be a 25=30 ki goldless option ■■■■■ the gold!

Umm, I guess this wasn’t directed at me?

Okay I’m starting to think the 18k gold is on purpose, we’ve been asking for more costumes/accessory sets for the last two seasons and people were upset at the prospect of having to pay extra for them, now they’re talking about “staying tuned” for info on KI gold exclusive content. Well by giving us “free” KI gold we can buy these new items without having to shell out “extra” money out of pocket. Ultra edition owners get all the content without paying more beyond the bundles, everyone wins.

If this price doesn’t work for you there are other options. The price is for the content you receive, the bonus items do not factor into that.

There is more to announce about seasn 3 and this option will be available if you see something you like

They told you can buy that and then log into PC without going for XBox. Also Infil said something like that: it’s just for progresses.

That means, if you have bought some KI Stuff for Xbox not owning it (like me), you just need to connect on Windows 10 Xbox app and you’re done: you get everything. You don’t need to go to your friend’s house and do that.

Things will be different if you played on Xbox One with your account once instead. In this case, you need to run the game again, expecially if you want to keep the levels and the stuff you unlocked by experience.

Moreover, due to misinformation, I think devs won’t have problems in shifting your content from Xbox to Windows 10 if gently asked. Right?
