Killer Instinct Season 3 Pricing Details

There will be no reaming if you guys are putting Shadow Jago in the store for permanent purchase before S3’s launch, I can promise you that. It doesn’t matter to me if that information comes today or March 28th. I was just concerned that if you didn’t talk about it today, that you weren’t talking about it at all.

I’ll wait, it’s no problem. Just hopeful you guys will make the right call here.

Here!

FTFY. Didn’t realize it was borked.

We just can’t win this one, can we? Is the price too good?

Reasons.

Reasons as well.

Work reasoning aside I am curious to the furor around this one, and I feel comfortable enough to have you all weigh in with your honest opinions and understand that I do not ask this out of ignorance, but general curiosity…

What’s the difference between knowing this a year ago or the day before launch (barring being able to save up, sure I get that.) What do you think the “sweet spot” is for knowing how much a game or DLC will cost?

5 days until launch. I wonder what we could manage to sneak in between now and then?

It was probably Microsoft making the decisions on the price point and all which sucks but the customer service people are doing refunds to the early adopters who bought into the bundles before this was announced. Already got my refund and am waiting for the app to become available on the 29th to get my Supreme edition, which will save me some money to buy a fightstick.

but that’s part of the magic…

Hypothetically if there was a physical version of the supreme edition later on would this exclude KI1 & KI2?

Mine is in the mail I went with the Hori Pro V Kai. It’s x360/X1 compatible so no issues on PC at home on day 1 or in X1 in tournaments. And it’s japanese made.. I mean… I figure they know what they’re doing over there

If we are talking in hypotheticals then there had better be a BTS video of me, and nothing but me doing all the things like walking to a fridge to get chocolate milk, or endlessly staring at my monitor clicking away, and walking back to the fridge to get more chocolate milk.

I am waiting on Eightarc to restock on their fightsticks. They are redoing their logo so I assume the lack of products on their store is related to the re-branding of everything with the new logo. I really want that Q2 Glow

Well, as an example, there was a Deals With Gold offer where you could buy S2 ultra edition for $17 (or something) a week ago. That seemed like a pretty good deal, being over 50% off, but if we knew that you were offering all 3 ultra editions for $50 total, we wouldn’t have recommended anyone buy that deal. In fact, they basically just threw away $17, because if you want all 3 ultra editions, it is still cheaper to just buy the $50 package than it is to invest in S1 ultra and S3 ultra separately.

The $50 deal is so outrageously good that anybody who has bought any KI package to date (with the intent of playing on PC only) has definitely purchased the wrong package deal and probably feels duped a bit. So I think knowing even just 1 month ago would have made a big difference for a lot of people.

Heck, there was a S1+S2 ultra edition package deal in the middle of last year, after the PC version was announced, where it was on sale for something like 60% off ($30 or so). I saw several people say they bought that package deal on twitter, preparing for the PC release and not planning to play before then, because why wouldn’t you snap up a deal like that? But now it will cost them $70 ($30 + $40 for S3 ultra) to own all the ultra content, as opposed to $50.

I’m not at all complaining that you settled on such an incredibly low price for the 3 ultra editions. As a consumer it’s fantastic and is very easy to recommend. But… knowing this information sooner does prevent people from feeling like they got duped.

I think the point of his post was “5 days later, change the pricing”. The price of this product changed very significantly over 5 days. I mean in the long run it doesn’t matter since xbox customer service seems to be on it, but it doesn’t come off as well organized to officially announce something one day, then have another surprise announcement 5 days later that changes the budget for a lot of people.

Totally get that. Interesting to hear differentiating consumer thoughts and activities.

Is the chocolate milk a secret :locked_with_key:

BRROOOO that x360 white one with the kanji all over it?!?! It’s hands down the most beautiful fightstick ever. But since it’s x360-based, and they have newer models that support the x1, I assumed those were out of stock forever. I think the last few were bought up on amazon/ebay when SF5 dropped. Well there was one guy on ebay selling a modded one for $200 within the last couple of days

following this logic, shouldnt i be angry that people are effectively getting season 1 & 2 for 20 dollars??? but i am not because i realize thats the nature of everything sold. at a certain point in time the price gets dropped and there will inevitably be people that buy just before a price drop, thats the unfortunate truth i dont believe microsoft has any blame here. which company tells people to stop patronizing them and wait till they put everything on sale??

lol, Rukari with the ballsy replies.

I have some confidence that Microsoft will come through on this. There’s the big Xbox Live esports push going on (check the GDC notes…somewhere), and Phil Spencer got a lot of cool points on Twitter for his response to the arsehat who complained about losing Quantum Break exclusivity. Freeing Shago just seems like a no-brainer by comparison.

…I thought he had hooves. :expressionless:

I suspect there’s a bunch of bureaucratic nonsense they had to get through to get to this point. Support is apparently refunding people who bought the preorder but want Supreme instead, so I can’t really put it down to malice.

Not that, the combination of these two reasons: 1) for new PC players, the Supreme Edition has wayyyy better value than the Ultra Edition, as in, PC players have no reason to get just Ultra when Supreme is just $10 more 2) For a span of almost a week (a week that is very, very close to launch) PC players didn’t know reason #1, and probably bought Ultra instead, not knowing that a much, much better deal was coming. They also had plenty of reason to get Ultra, since Season 3 has been pushed as cross-buy since day 1.

I mean, I don’t really care - I got Season 3 for free… but this whole thing is like you’re just asking for a lot of refund complaints from your new PC customers.

They are in development of new fightsticks according to their Facebook page. “Eightarc- Yes, we are working on a PS4, PS3, and PC joystick but it won’t be available until April or May possibly.” On whether or not they are making new sticks which is pretty cool. Gives me some time to save up for one and look up reviews so I can buy the best one for me as this is going to be my first stick.

Also which white stick were you talking about? The Fusion Ivory, Q4 White and Red or the Q2 Evo Glow?

So let me get this straight, you are making all 3 seasons ultras for 60 bucks, yet you still have the AUDACITY to charge 40 bucks for just season 3 ultra for the people that have supported you since launch. I am SERIOUSLY considering canceling my preorder, this is utter horse ■■■■.
