Killer Instinct Season 3 Graphics Shine Brighter

Each character will have their own music.

Guys remember, Kim Wu’s stage has pigeons that react to enders and ultras. That makes her stage worth 3 S1 or S2 stages.

We said Shadow Jago is the only character in the game with an Ultimate.

Off topic, “Kappa” is actually:

From Reddit:

Twitch used to have an employee named Josh Kappa back when it was Justin.tv. Kappa the monochrome face received popularity for being synonymous with either sarcasm or trolling and they kept the emote after he left.

Yeah, I know that. I’m just worried about fitting more themes on less stages. Like I mentioned, it sort of implies something like the dynamic music switching up character themes during matches. I’m a little apprehensive about that.

That’s not the case, is it?

Hisako’s spooky haunted village with TJ’s urban rap song is gonna be fantastic.

Don’t think so. I imagine its like SF where you can choose to have the stage theme play or character theme of one of the players on the stage.

Also, @TheNinjaOstrich thanks for the explanation.

I’m really hoping that whatever this other content is thats eating up the budget isn’t fancy cinematics or story mode stuff, cause honestly that would be such a waste. I’ve only ever delved into story mode to unlock achievements, and i would guess that the people that play KI spend the vast majority of their time playing real people, especially considering the incredible netcode.

I’ve never actually understood the desire for story stuff in fighting games. If i want to play a game with a strong narrative i would rather play something like The Last of Us or Quantum Break, those are the kind of games i play to experience a story. Probably the best thing Sakurai ever did was get rid of the Subspace Emissary in the latest Smash Bros. All of the work went into creating the best roster Smash Bros has ever seen and a wild variety of stages as opposed to spending time, effort and money making fancy cinematics of Pikachu chucking lightning at Ridley.

I guess that defuses the situation considerably, then. :slightly_smiling:

I think the tone of my posts went a little downhill as speculation on the content of season 3 taking a hit and mention of the PC port as a justification started to be brought up. There’s stuff about that which can be far more frustrating than the reality of the matter, which seems to be that we’re “only” going to be able to play in, like, 6 or 10 more stages than the MKX and SFV players get. It’s bothersome that the character-stage tie is being cut (at least as we understand it right now), but this sure as ■■■■ isn’t the hill I want to die on.

This is also a good sign.

Yeah, this sounds better. Thanks. Hope this is the case.

This looks amazing! Props to art designers great lighting!

I’m starting to think that the music may dynamically change to the theme of the character who is winning.

Interesting idea. It would be kinda jarring though, wouldn’t it? Imagine going from Spinal’s theme to Orchid’s theme back and forth while the life lead is being traded.

I don’t know dude, but people have been begging for this for ■■■■■■■ ages, so if they’ve put some serious resources into this (and haven’t let up on other mechanically relevant features and whatnot we’d like to see), then I’m not going to be sorry to see the stages go.

So I’m going to go out and assume that we’ll be given an options menu that will allow us to choose what theme we’d want prior to playing a match kind of like in practice or after selecting a stage we select the theme.

Also they said Shago is the only character to get an ultimate understood but what about no mercies hmmm , either way I trust IG to deliver an awesome season even if the the 3 stages only bums me out.

@TempusChaoti @rukizzel BTW, you guys might want to look into this. Could become a potential problem:

The PC version isn’t the only reason why stages are getting hit. They already said that the new lighting was one of the MAJOR reasons, as well as some of the new content/systems they are introducing in S3.

Can we stop pretending like the PC Port is the ONLY reason why this is happening?

It may not be, but as Andy said earlier, to pretend it isn’t a significant factor is asinine.

LOL oh wow, now that’s something I actaully don’t know about xD. Thanks for sharing!

I know, I get that. And I dealt with that for 2+ years without ever complaining that the game wasn’t on PC. It was just something that I spectated, and I loved it (talking about KI).

What? There would be no point. Being able to play 2 games I can’t on the systems I currently have for even $350 isn’t worth it. Not to mention the $60 yearly subscription.
