I can understand wanting to be sure of the game, but there are a couple points I don’t agree with. To give myself a little background I have always been both a PC and console gamer, even down to purchasing some games on both platforms; Fallout 4 and Blood Bowl being recent instances of this.
As others have said, the game has been out for a while now, and you yourself said that you’ve played it, so from a gameplay standpoint I really don’t see why there would be a risk to picking it up. I have seen a few people who mentioned that they intend to “wait and see” with Season 3, but a lot of them (not intended to point a finger at you) also tend to be very vocal about wanting specific content to be in the game or to have access to things like skins, or Shadow Jago; I believe that if you don’t properly support the game you aren’t really entitled to heavily criticize KI. If the game wasn’t being purchased and played by the community it has, it’s likely Season 3 and/or the PC port might not have happened.
Now, I can appreciate wanting to be sure that there are a lot of people playing, but bear in mind that we’re currently between seasons (less people playing as often, which includes myself) and that both Season 3 and the PC port will be bringing in a lot of attention, new players, and returning players.
I’m happy we’re getting the PC port and that the GWG giveaway is happening. I think they’re both great things which will enhance the KI community and help it to grow, but I wanted to weigh in on the discussion a bit.
The risk was the fact of not having enough people playing at least in the European zone. But I played not between the seasons, but during the highest peak of Season 2. I started playing it when Omen was released and finished testing it after weeks the release of Hisako.
To be clear, I played during the last month of the ol’ ranking system and the beginning of the new one. The game itself isn’t a risk, it’s very well made, despite some flaws I discussed openly in my very first topic I opened months ago (it was September?).
Now that I know I’m going to get a Season for free thanks to the deal with gold, I’m intend to spend the amount necessary to have the game completed for March (excluding Season 3, which I might buy in later date because I never played KI gold for N64 so I don’t know Kim Wu, Tusk and Gargos despite having seen some videos).

There’s also pique, which is pronounced the same as “peak” but means something different entirely. Don’t feel bad about the mistake, I was terrible at Italian as soon as they started introducing the tenses.
Like I said, a lot of the reason I wanted to post was because I’ve seen multiple people talking about waiting on supporting Season 3, and it just confuses me that some people won’t support a game like KI but will complain about what they have access to or do not. There were a lot of complaints from PC players who already intend to play the game on PC, but didn’t back the community fund to get their hands on Shadow Jago, and refused to spend the $5 to buy Shadow Jago now, but were DEMANDING that he be given to PC port players for free, or be available for purchase at that time.
Another quick question: Does the month of Live Gold end one month exactly from when you activated it (example, from 22nd December to 22nd January) or at the end of a month (even if I activate it on December 22nd, it will last until December 31st)?
If someone’s said it already, apologies. I reckon Season 2 will be available in Feb as part of games with gold. That’d mean Season 1 in Jan, Season 2 in Feb and then Season 3 roles in in March with the PC port to boot…
