KI Novella

I could see this happening. What would really please me from a lore/dramatic standpoint is if in order to banish Gargos and seal the portals Eagle needs to either pass through it (physically dragging Gargos back through) or somehow give his life.

  • It would be fitting for Thunder’s search to complete in success after so many years.

  • Having Eagle sacrifice his life to save Thunder (and the world) would be extremely poetic after the search.

  • I think Thunder being the vehicle which allows the “perfect specimen” of humanity to fulfill his destiny is a great story. He doesn’t need to be the main, spotlighted hero, but his actions have serious weight and meaning. Sam Gamgee from Lord Of The Rings is a really good example of this.

I’ve really enjoyed the stories. They are fun and interesting to read. I’m always hesitant to post in these threads because people take the lore so seriously and I don’t want to seem dismissive. But…

I think if everyone could just relax a bit about what is canon, what is being changed from the originals and from season 1-2, we might just be able to enjoy the story. I think @xSkeletalx was the one who said he was reading it like a comic book. That sounds right to me. Comic books can have really compelling and engaging stories - but if you start over-nerding about continuity across 50 years of soap opera plot lines you are just going to make yourself insane. Is Fulgore a robot or a cyborg? Eh, this week he’s a robot. Aria’s a robot too, but she has a fascinating and compelling story. So roll with it.

I like they there are unanswered questions and intriguing bits. Loved the appearance by Glacius (doing something good by rescuing Eagle) and we are left to wonder if the Ryat AI is something that evolved on its own, just a script from Glacius or somewhere in between. For the record - I don’t need an answer. Answering every mystery is sort of the ruin for a lot of compelling stories. We don’t need midichlorians in KI. Is ARIA evil? Is Mira evil? Is Sabrewulf good? The plot (such as it was) for the first two games was sort of nihilistic. These new stories are really compelling, in my opinion.

As far as Eagle speculation, I’m not so sure this means he will be a character - although the door is definitely wide open. If I was holding on to a final character reveal for a game full of robots, skeletons werewolves aliens and demons would I release a grappling boxer as the big finale? Probably not. Maybe MS has something awesome planned for him but Eagle doesn’t seem like a legit possibility for finishing the season to me.

Aww and as he sacrifices himself he can look to Thunder and say ‘We are Aganos’

IMO if Eagle its in, he wont be “totally human”. I see him like a hybrid between his weyekin (the Eagle), human peak warrior, and due to Aria experiments and maybe with Glacius help, mechanically augmented. So he can use phisical attacks, bionic moves, and infuse himself with astral powers.

And thats nuts xD

Not MS. Keits.

Being the creative designer he is, he’d find a way to surprise us.

oooh… this actually makes sense now. I was wondering what the weird point of Aria figuring Eagle would be attractive would be. But if she figured out her female form, in all its hybrid AI/alien DNA ‘pefection’ self, then she’d could mate with Eagle and see if her AI consciousness could endure through human generations.

now that is sick and twisted and totally makes sense from Aria’s perspective.

Also the thought of Eagle in the game only appeals to me if he got re-captured, pumped full of alien DNA as punishment, felt the urge to pick up a billy club and became Eyedol. poor guy. I mean they both start with E so let’s this happen… but seriously the path to aria creating Eyedol in the lab has been officaly made wide open

Wait! What if Eyedol is Eagle’s weyekin?! Like how Gargos posed as the Tiger Spirit!

I’m sure Keits will make a delightful character - from a combat standpoint - no matter what their story is. I understand (and admittedly, I don’t understand perfectly) that he is responsible for the fighting design. But I don’t think he designs the characters aesthetics etc.

In any case, we will eventually see what they have cooked up for that blank space in the bottom corner.

EDIT: how many people think we will see an Aria costume that is not a robot based on this story? Sounds really hard to do, to me, but they certainly spend a lot of time talking about her human avatar…

Does make sense, but the thought of ARIA mating with Eagle if things went her way:

If things went her way then this would probably be their offspring.

Honestly I was think thoses two would aswell be part of the new Night Guard, but since I thought they like being an exclusive pair in a pod team, so I didn’t bother mentioning them.

Well if the new Night Guard and this pair have cross path in the story then I can see this a huge possibility as they all fight for the same cause.

I can see where they could add Eagle into the game but I think they will save him for maybe the next season if they continue the season approach or they could hold back for the next iteration of KI to put him in

Welcome to Glacius’ life; fighting to keep his technology from being misused against both humanity and his people, despite everything he’s been through, while being expected to conceal his presence! His mission is the very definition of a thankless job, and gets sadder the harder you think about it. ;_;

Is this a reference to the ‘canon’ origins of ARIA’s theme? It would be a pretty cool implication, that she took this “hideous creation” and adopted it as her theme in his memory.

Here’s my question for the day: what does Glacius want with Eagle?

Probably just to give ARIA the middle finger for mistreating his tech.

Definitely gotta be character 8…
