No one said we wouldnt get a lower price, and even if we didnt who said we would get less content. Just because we didnt get 8 stages this time, doesnt mean we didnt get other things in return. We might get more content then in the last 2 seasons, just not in the stage department.
If those other things are worth it for someone, well, thats up to them. Some people dont care for more stages, if they get a bunch of cool modes in return and better lighting, etc, then to them the season might even be worth more.
Never said it wouldn’t be a lower price, I said “should” based on what’s been revealed/shown so far. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and one perceives value differently from the next person. Additionally, I also said they still might have few a few surprises left to show. Example, the keep saying “Three All New Stages,” that leaves room for… maybe a retro remake stage, who knows. I’m confident the pricing structure will be reasonable regardless of what and when the final package content contains. Until then, lets hope for the best and more unexpected reveals!!!
hughhhhhh! it’s so hard to stay positive when it’s 21 days till launch and no word on content or pricing. Are there reasons for these delays? basic logic would certainly say so. people look for troubling signs during the development of a game and withholding content and price is probably one of the biggest red flags there can be.
could it all just be locked down in red tape?
If v-sync cause KI on PC to run worse than consoles should PC pay the same price?
Why should PC pay more because just last month PC missed KI SE2 ultra pack for games with gold?
SE1 content is now 2 years old, how much should it be?
3 stages instead of 8. what is the new lighting worth? people who don’t play the game aren’t going to see the value in the new lighting engine.
IS the game going to be delayed? I doubt it as they will just release the most recent build and add to it later.
the community manager Ruzzilwhatever said from here on out its all gravy. but the more time goes by without content questions being answered the more it seems Ruzzilwhatever broke his promise and by extension, IG.
People are REALLY being impatient though. In the last two weeks we have seen a ton of content for the game. Including huge amounts of gameplay, two trailers last week and gameplay streams for both Arbiter and Tusk. That’s a lot. It’s a heck of a lot more than we had for S2. Give them a second to let people absorb things before they roll out new announcements.
As far as the PC price, I don’t think you can make any kind of sense out of pricing relative to performance considering it’s an open platform. If you get into the business of saying “this was on sale last week, so how is it fair to pay more now” etc. you are going to be in a world of misery - not just for KI but for almost anything. With the KI pricing structure people have so many options to get what they want and spend what they want that I don’t really see anything causing too much trouble with pricing on PC.
ya. 2 weeks ago I would have said people are to impatient. heck even a week ago. but on the eve of eating into a full 3 weeks I’m not so sure.
ya streams are cool and appreciated but that’s just desert and missing the meat and potatoes. as logical as you are there comes a point where even you have to question it all.
not to mention max does all the trailers from home, IG resources aren’t even being used. it’s just some 3rd part guy making trailers, while relevant I wouldn’t credit IG with producing that content
and I know I’m going to sound like a total d-bag, but I can twitch stream from home showing off gameplay too. having said that, it was really nice of them to stream all day last Sunday. above and beyond actually.
I’m not really interested in the amount of work they are demonstrating (although I would argue with the notion that Max makes the trailers alone in a closet). But they have a schedule for releasing content. They don’t want to just drop everything at once and then have three weeks of nothing before launch.
I just think people are blowing this WAY out of proportion. If we get to March 21 and don’t know the price I will re-think my stance.
Keep in mind, too, that S3 will not be finished on March 29. There will be further reveals and announcements even after the game launches. So I wouldn’t expect to see a huge data dump all at once.
oh man! I thought I was private messaging you. lol my phone screen is so tiny. my bad forum peeps. I didn’t mean to spam.
I’d like to think my patience stems from being a father of two. while KI certainly is in the realm of breaking paradigms when it comes to releasing content I’m not so sure it’s going to be 2 weeks of content drops and reveals. certainly the community manager would just say full disclosure on xx and x.
Most people see these as signs as red flags and more than likely IG would want to avoid that at all cost. Avid gamers are smart and they smell trouble based on the signs we see right now. Are those gamers always right in these assertions? no, but it is a high likelihood. SFV was shady about content disclosure and look where than ended up.
I’m not saying that case applies to this game, but how one could interpret silence for brewing trouble on the horizon.
343 was pretty shady about their cover-up of the lack of split-screen co-op in Halo 5 too. I’m not really sure how Halo’s doing right now though because it was a major deal-breaker for me. I played Reach so much I hit the Inheritor rank…Halo 4, not as much but my whole family played through Spartan Ops together & it was awesome…but even with our 2 Xbox Ones we can’t do 4-player, so I’ve played through 5’s campaign once…played a couple of online matches, then went back to playing KI.
halo 5s cool. it’s definitely in a different place now. that’s why people wait buying games cause the content at launch just isn’t there. halo 5s getting firefight and that pretty cool.
but ya, anything negative is usually pused back as far as they can, but before being accused of covering it up and being dishonest.
I’m referring to other games when I say this and I want to make that clear.
Capcom was pretty open about what would be in SFV at launch. People just don’t listen.
Go through the Keits stream from Sunday and look at the number of people asking basic questions like “when does S3 come out?” And “are they going to make this for PC?”
I can’t prove if that’s the case but I am looking at the way they announced it (in a forum, not even confirmed, we had to ask) and also by how late they stated it.
In order to justify the lack of stages to me they would have to do most of these things,
Redo all season one retros
more accessories for every character
training stage is an option in versus
promise we will get the 5 stages at a later date
add a classic retro option to season 2 characters that one should be easy its mostly just minor edits
a new announcer
9 characters minimum
more colors
It especially hurts due to this meaning Gargos is not getting a final boss stage.
