Oh man! i just got the email and thought hell no one has seen this? wth? I looked and didnt see it posted but its way up top… owell…here is for those late to the thread!
Chances are there will be a gameplay trailer at E3 since that is what they did last year with MKX during the PS4 conference. Do we know if all the conferences will be streamed on twitch this year and what channel?
I want an Atrocitus/Dex-Starr combo character like Ferra/Torr from MKX please make it happen Boon
I should put it in the top post!
Edit: Top post is updated with what we know so far. ^^
If gamers will only play this for one month then it means every other fighting game loses their fans earlier. Everyone knows Injustice pulls in more casual players than every other fighting game and retains them with a bunch of fan service skins like the Arrow skin.
There’s still people playing the first Injustice. I played it with a friend just this Monday. And I will certainly play it more now as I wait for Injustice 2! ![]()
The same thing was said about MKX but now it’s on its 3 ESL and likely a fourth following.
Yeah, Netherrealm Studios have kinda slithered their way into the tournament scene since MK9. Though the games before MKX haven’t been on there that long, they’ve slowly stepped with each game. I can imagine Injustice 2 could become popular on the tournament scene as well, if they continue down his path.
All I know is like it or not…MKX is Fn amazing! If Injustice 2 is anything close to MKX plus new additions that they have made better and learned from MKX mistakes…it should be one hell of a game!
MKX was indeed very good. There was some things I was kinda iffed about, but overall, really cool.
I have no doubt Injustice 2 is gonna be cool as well. They need to do something really bad for me to not like it. NOT putting Nightwing in the game would be the first step towards me not liking it… kinda how I felt about Jade not being in MKX. Had she been in the game, I’d have played the game alot more, I’m sure.
I’m not going to dismiss a game for not having my favourite character in it, I’m not that shallow… but characters draw me in! Especially in a fighting game! And MKX didn’t have alot of characters I was actually interested in. There’s a reason certain characters are my favourites, such as I enjoy their gameplay, their design, their stories… and if they are omitted from a game, my will to play it will fall.
This is especially something that affects my opinion about Injustice, as I am not really a big fan of the DCU. I like Batman characters and Teen Titans (which I think I’ve mentioned before), Nightwing and Catwoman being my top favourite characters. So Nightwing would indeed be the character that would pull me in.
Doesn’t mean the game would be bad without him, not at all. Just like MKX isn’t bad though Jade isn’t in it. But it just means my interest in the game wouldn’t be as high as it would be if he was in it! Like… if Orchid wasn’t in Killer Instinct, I would most likely not be here right now.
Sorry for the double post, but we have been a few on another forum discussing what this new “Gear System” is. Wanted to post my theory on here as well:
This is how I imagine it…
Say you have stats, like Strength, Defense, Power, Range, stuff like that. And you have certain points in them, like this:
- Strength: 3
- Defense: 3
- Power: 3
- Range: 3
And then you are able to take points from one stat and put it in another, but only up to a certain limit. Like this:
- Strength: 6
- Defense: 0
- Power: 5
- Range: 1
Which shows that I have taken all 3 points from Defense and put in Strength, hitting the limit, and then put 2 points from Range into Power instead. That way, my character is now stronger on some points, but weaker in others, to keep the balance.
And to add to that, unlocking Gear to change a character’s playstyle, like my Catwoman example below.
Say that Catwoman has these three moves:
- Claw Swipe
- Whip Lash
- Bola Throw
Then after playing her some, I unlock some Claw Gear and put it on her. Now she is focused on claw moves, replacing one of her other moves. For example:
- Claw Swipe
- Claw Grab
- Bola Throw
But then after playing her some more, I unlock a Whip gear which I can attach INSTEAD of the Claw Gear, giving her some more whip moves instead.
This way, we will be able to mix’n match the characters’ moves to fit the playstyle we like. It’s kinda like the Variation System in MKX, except that we as a player gets to decide what moves we can use, of course up to a certain limit.
This is ALL just a theory on what this “Gear System” could be though. Thoughts and speculations. ^^
That’s really interesting, in a way it reminds me of how you are able to customize character moves in Smash 4.
Where do you come up with this? First of all you have no clue when Injustice will actually come out. Might not be until Christmas 2017. Second, people play more than one game. I really liked Injustce but it didn’t hold my attention for long and I barely touched the single player content.
Starfire please!!!
2017 is a bit far away- too early to see
Too much transformers iron man metal shifting going on.
What defines each power set could be lost
It’s not out yet so I’ll hold feelings until then
How would you like Starfire to be? Any suggestions to her look? Feel free to share images of her in some cool outfits you’d like to see. ^^
Like I’d like to see Nightwing in his Arkham Knight gear:
I’m like those cartoons with the eyes blasting out
Nightwing is >>biting lip<<
I like the most popular but it’s a bit ■■■ so I love the long sleeve variation and the full space suit version(which I think is optimal for Orchid)
I really like the first one, looks pretty cool!
Yes please!!! She will be my #1 character if she is in, the onyl character who would give her a run for her money would be Spawn (Or an MK character as a guest)
Common Sense. You could argue all you want that SF or KI retains players more than MK or Injustice but when you look at the fact that both those games sell over a million on release, have an over abundant amount of content compared to every other fighting game, have plenty of fanservice DLC like the actor from Arrow actually voicing the character in game, and a mobile game that currently has over 10 million downloads on Android alone which gifts you items on the main games, it’s quite clear these guys have a lot more pull than most other fighting games and incentives to keep you occupied for quite a while.
Like I said, you can argue all you want but it’s kind of useless and foolish to argue against those numbers. Maybe they do play two fighting games, it still doesn’t mean they are interested in a harder combo system than the one presented in MK. If fans really dropped the game quickly like you said then the PS4 version wouldn’t have reached near a million sales alone.
But I thought MKX already came out? Kappa
In all seriousness, I’m kind of excited. Just hope less than 1/3 of the cast isn’t just Batman related characters.
