Injustice 2

This interview escaped me:

I am on the hunt of a better video of this.

I feel like there’s similarities to Shadow Lords here somewhere, but we’ll wait until that reveal to actually tell.
Clash seems to be coming back in a more up-close-and-personal way, they did multiple quotes with MKX so if that’s there I’m sure it’ll be entertaining for a while.
I’m a little iffy on getting this game only because I don’t know the roster yet. And the netcode. Oh boy the netcode. Hours of “Oh boy, a match! Character picked, stage picked, let’s go… Disconnected? What?” with decreasing levels of enthusiasm. That was the Injustice online experience. At least MK9 let me play a few matches in KOTH lobbies for a while before the same thing happened.
I wonder what the UI will look like this time around, I liked the personalized symbols and stuff around the meter, lifebars were simple and seemed to fit well.
Not sure if this has been asked, but will they be bringing the Run mechanic into this as well?

Im sure the netcode will be the same as the new MKX netcode…nothing to worry about. I have Zero issues with MKX online now.

And so I’ve been hearing, which gives me a lot of hope. The only real problem is, since I played the first Injustice, I’ve learned a whole lot more about fighting games (because of it as well). And now I want a character that I feel compelled to play, either because of personal bias (Nightwing, a Blue Lantern but I’ll take Green too) or because their gameplay attracts me. So far neither condition has been met, so lets see.

have you not played the new MK X on line? Its great…I have no issues. It just as good as KI for me.

I haven’t actually, never had the money to buy it. Thought I’d wait for XL but the timing sucked then too. I followed it a lot though, and I am happy the new netcode seems to be turning out great. I hope you haven’t misunderstood me, I’m excited for Injustice 2 (DC over Marvel, they can have their film universe). I just don’t have a character I’m particularly vested in yet.

The only thing that concerns me a bit is how can they keep this game balanced for competitive play when everyone is adding different defensive and offensive properties to their characters.

Well if you get the chance to buy or rent MK XL…I highly suggest it. It is an amazing game and its not one to pass upon if you love fighting games. It may even be the best fighting game ever made IMO. Even though I love KI more… MKX overall is a better made game.

Edit:
MORE gameplay demonstration:

Loving that pub stage.

Hehe, yeah, it’s very Street Fighter-like to have a stage in a place like that. XD

So the gamespot reveal/ leak was planned or was that GameSTOP lol

That was GameSTOP, the gaming store, not GameSPOT, the gaming journalist platform. XD

And here’s IGN’s interview with ALOT of questions answered!

And all the Supers so far:

Wow, they are REALLY going all out with the gear system. Competitive play will be a struggle.

The Gear system seems weird…

Will the gear system be applied for tourneys?

I think NRS will make it so you only fight people of your same gear level when fighting online to balance it out, and at tournaments ALL the gear will most likely be available for the players to put together the gear for their character that they prefer to fight as.

Shouldn’t be a problem.

Also, pure gameplay showcase from the IGN interview:

Thanks for sharing this!

I know know Batman basically has the same move set. So I can just pick him and play.

From what I understand of what Ed Boon’s said in the interviews, the characters will have alot of the same moves and gameplay from Injustice 1 - kinda like how Tekken characters play alot alike in every new game - but with added moves and such + what you can get and customize from the gear you earn.

That way, people will pick up the character they played in Injustice 1 and feel familiar with them, and then learn all the new stuff they have to offer.

That’s good. As much as I like trying new things every now and then, it is a pain to have to relearn all of the mechanics in a game because none of it carried over from a previous installment. And MK has probably been the biggest offender…well, aside from KI, but KI’s forgiven since it was on a 16+year hiatus and the new one is far better.
