x360ce can work through changing some configurations in the xbox app. In reality, you can put the x360 ini file directly on the folder where you have the xbox app exe, so universally you have configured your controller.
However I heard there are other alternative like Xoutput, a program like that, that works perfectly with generic joystick.
However I suggest you to check on the reddit forum of KI, where this particular thing has been explained really well by some guy around there. There is also the opportunity of putting the game in Steam.
