I am really gonna quit every match with a Shadow Jago

Wow. I didnt know about that stuff. So he always will teleport behind you if he does the move up close?

I think that depends on which strength he uses because each version travels a certain distance, the longest being the heavy one. And it auto-corrects once heā€™s behind you. So he can be at a distance where the medium version hits you in the front and the heavy one hits from behind. Iā€™m not sure right now if the light version crosses up when heā€™s point blank in front of you, but I believe it does not since he teleports straight up.

Like the dude below you said. Depends on the strength. He can still do the option to do a light kick which has a shot distance and is in front but the heavy version is a larger distance kick and can only be done behind the opponent if Shago is really close to you. Basically donā€™t expect him to teleport kick you from above from full screen.

yup he canā€™t teleport behind you from far away but do a double dash quickly, then a slide, then immediately a teleport behind then slide teleport behind dash back dash forward behind teleport, slide teleport.

Do it at random, everybody is then clueless as to whats happening they canā€™t predict you and neither can you predict yourself. That teleport with the kick from the air behind you is like what Akuma has in SF, except shago is so much more effective as he can teleport at crazy speed when you least expect.

Ridiculous how much matches I can win with him, really epic character my new favorite. I donā€™t play him unless someone else is picking him though, it donā€™t feel right wining so easily with him I prefer a challenge so i save him incase someone wants to be a douche and pick him. Other than that I prefer normal characters because again I feel guilty using him as its not really fair to others. I am the type of person with too much conscience I feel guilty really easy so yeah I like shadow jago but I wonā€™t be using him much.

Please define what a ā€œnormal characterā€ and an ā€œabnormal characterā€ is and how Shago is an abnormal character.

You donā€™t have any idea what you are talking about. Nothing of what you said would work against a decent player but ok.

Oh myā€¦

A bit off topic, but I ran into Rico Suave in exhibition yesterday. Sort of, at any rate. He wasnā€™t actually there, so I backed out and left him a message to let him know how happy I was to see and get the chance to fight him, only to end up disappointed because he was not actually present (I even waited 5+ minutes for him to ready up).

Hereā€™s some advice: if youā€™re not present, donā€™t start a search for another opponent - itā€™s incredibly annoying.

When got this game in December, I was also having extreme troubles with Shago. At lower levels a person who knows how to play this character is really advantaged because no one knows how to play against Shago. Once you have knowledge, though, youā€™re really advantaged. I even tried to play as Shago once, I couldnā€™t do it. Way too different of a character to try to play coming from a Riptor background. Oh, and did I mention that Riptor has a bad MU against a Shago who faces well? You just have to play on your toes.

ā€œNobody is listening to me, so Iā€™m going to pretend I bought him and now I can destroy anyone to prove my point.ā€

If youā€™re finding it impossible to defeat anyone who plays Shadow Jago, I doubt youā€™re beating level 50 characters with him.

Shago isnā€™t particularly difficult to fight. He CAN be tough, in the hands of a good player, but that goes for everyone.

Instead of ignoring what everyone is saying (theyā€™re actually trying to help you, by the way) how about you take some of their advice on-board?

Iā€™ve found rash is pretty much the best against shago, i havnt used shago much, but i had so much hassle with him untill rash came along and im pretty much winning most matches against shago now.

I disagree with your statements entirely - Kim, Tusk and Rash need tweaking Iā€™d say and Arby, depending on situation/match up, can be either too good looking or majorly underpowered/almost impossible to win with, but thatā€™s a discussion for another topic.

Actually, since I made that post and have the opportunity to experiment with and fight against them a bit more, my opinion regarding the new characters has somewhat changed.

Arbiter is a good character, but only if you know what youā€™re doing. In training he was awesome, but in an actual fight I got destroyed (RGL makes him look so easy too!).

In contrast, Tusk was the exact opposite. In training, I hated him and couldnā€™t get a feel for him, but once I had him in an actual match, I kind of got the feel for him. It was still a tough matchup (I played against Flutterā€™s Omen), but in the end, I still won.

Iā€™m really starting to like Kim Wu, but Iā€™m finding some minor issues with her. Her d+HK is incredibly short-range for a sweep when compared to the rest of the cast, for one example. For another, her anti-projectile firecracker move has failed me at least twice, as there appears to be a bit of a gap where projectiles can actually get through it (which is very disappointing - I thought it was supposed to be like a solid wall). Furthermore, I was disappointed that I couldnā€™t use her dragon spirit attack outside of instinct. I thought that as long as you had a dragon, that you could, even outside of instinct. It appears that I was wrong. I even had an instance where I performed a successful shadow counter only to find that her short legs whiffed the opponent! I donā€™t know about you, but I though shadow counters, unless youā€™re hit out it, were always automatically hit your opponentā€¦ If these issues can be addressed, I will likely play her more often. Although I gotta say, she destroys Mayaā€™s daggers. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The battle toad is a really great character overall. I question whether or not heā€™s OP due to how good his tongue is though. Itā€™s a great utility move to interrupt the opponent, get out of harmā€™s way, get in closer, or to remove projectiles from the game in order to gain more shadow meter. Thatā€™s a LOT of utility! Iā€™ve even seen Rash players even use it to remove my chunk-armor, despite the fact that it does no damage. That, in particular is frustrating if I only have 1 chunk, because it immediately puts him next to my golem for an attack. Furthermore, if I knock him away to full screen distance with any number of Aganosā€™ attacks, itā€™s likely that heā€™ll get back up quickly and zipline his way into me as Iā€™m attempting to chunk up and prevent me from doing so in the process. I miss Aganosā€™ former hard-knockdown attacks.

Shago is the epitome of gimmicks. Heā€™s super unsafe on alot of his poo now. The major issue in fighting shago I believe is the timer. When they realize youā€™re a brick wall and know how to punish and react to all his shennanigans, thats when the fun startsā€¦Sarcasmā€¦They will start the runaway flowchart plan. Then you get aggravated because you have to chase him down and catch him all over the place. Then you have to start option selecting his wakeup backdashes and so on and so forth. Basically, I believe he is a gimmick and irritating to fight, not in any way OD.

This thread just went from impatient whining to painful irony.

Shadow Jago is not a free win. By any means.

Time to get my 2 cents here:

-As far as i saw, Shago could be the master of cross-ups. He has all the tools to spamming it. Thatā€™s why some peeps hate it. Heā€™s not OP. Since the S3, Shago is by far less powerful than before (hello frame addons).
When i see your post, i instantly remember another thread talking about how OP Wulf isā€¦ :joy:
When you donā€™t know an opponent, practice him on Dojo or Arcade.

But it seems you finally bought him and win without understand clearly how to counter himā€¦Typical casualā€¦

Itā€™s like Rashā€™ haters whoā€™re spamming Wrecking Ball/MK and got stomped before they understand why they lose so hardlyā€¦

About Tuskā€¦Well, Tusk is heavy and have some trickys moves. Heā€™s doing STRONG damageā€¦make sense to me (DA).
Kim Wu? Itā€™s like Hisako+Orchid. Not OP at all, but strong.
And finally Arbiterā€¦How to counter Arbiter? Come closer. Not at 2 steps or far away, or youā€™re doomed.
His grab (K) takes a time to perform, so you have the time to punish.

Your 2 cents was worth a lot good post. I like reading common sense.
