How do you think Celldweller and AtlasPlug has been doing?

So you’re saying you used hyperbole to paint an objective picture of a subjective situation? No wonder I’m not understanding you, sheesh.

Nobody said you were bad at listening to music. Relax.

Almost then… I know it’s not exactly what was being said, but it was pretty close…

My viewpoints on music are making you feel bad.

And you never use exaggeration to make stuff easier for people to understand the point of?

But… let me join the other part of this conversation then, even though you all think I’m an idiot.

I mainly listen to Nightwish, Manowar, KI 1-2 (3 when online), Celldweller, Skrillex, ACDC, some Danish hiphop, Old guitar classics (like Still got the blues, Bad to the Bone etc)… but I have a much more varied playlist, just mainly being there things

But I don’t feel bad at all. You seem kind of upset though. I’m at best amused by this discussion.

I guess not - but seeing how this worked out I’m not inclined to begin.

Respectfully - You frankly shouldn’t have done this…

…If you weren’t prepared to defend the statement. It’s sweeping and odd. Frankly only two people addressed technical proficiency; myself, and another cat who posts less often than I do.

I did preface my very first post in this thread with:

So off the bat I did not expect to be agreed with - but you came out and made a sweeping statement in an attempt to invalidate my angle. Now I’m here defending it.

Not once did we say you were bad at anything, not once did we call you an idiot. Everyone is dealing with your posts on the merit of their content. If you were only using the hyperbole to paint that one picture, as you said, then please turn it off now.

Man - I gotta look into that. I’ve heard a lot of hip-hop, but Danish has escaped me somehow. Thanks for mentioning it exists!

True Story - I once helped them carry a foam rubber volcano onto their stage.

Wanted gargos to have some Grindcore or some evil heavy song like thy art murder - purest form of hate

You know - I suspect Celldweller probably would have gone there a bit if it were his call - but there’s no WAY that MS would let anyone get away with straight-up grindcore in their IP.

I say this as a near lifelong fan of the genre, btw. It’s just not widely liked or commercially viable.

I wish we knew who the next character was so we could get the thread back on topic speculating what they’ll do with it.

@LordCrisp - I do agree with one of the observations you made earlier. Mick definitely seemed more genuinely into KI than CD/AP do. Not that it’s their fault - I mean, you like what you like - but I can see what you mean when you say that they lack a little fire in their eyes when they talk about KI.

It’s a fire we know well when we see it - 'cuz most if not all of us here in the thread have it.

I did defend it… that was my whole point with orchestra vs blues thing, but whatever… seems like we’ve gotten as far as we are ever gonna in that category…

And don’t know how much I can recommend Danish hiphop, as it’s (almost) all in danish, but if you can see through that I guess you’re fine…
Just don’t expect any real gangster attitude though, as we’re a pretty “soft” country, most of it is more buttshake beats, than underground… which is actually why I like it… can’t stand gangster rappers who think they’re cool because they can say “yo’ momma”
IF you’re still gonna look into it, my preferred artists are Johnson, L.O.C. and Suspekt… U$O is an VERY good speed rapper, but his solo stuff in not very good, he even starred in some American speedrap TV show thingy

And glad to see we can agree on something

I can dig that softer hip hop vibe tho  Lots of stuff came out of NYC that was really laid back that I enjoy. Thanks for the recommendations! The foreign language definitely doesn’t bother me.

Yeah so - I’ve been thinking about it, and it seems like it must be really hard to find someone that is (A) really passionate about fighting games, (B) has a proven track record of proficiency in sound design/production/mixing/mastering, (C) fits the genre or general musical hemisphere you had in mind, and (D) has the free time to work a project. That really is a concert of convenient situations, isn’t it?

No problem…

And yes… that is a feat.
Which is also why so many were dumbfounded when Mick delivered what he did…
Also why it was so scary when he left, what are the chances of more miracles in the size that was Double Helix to Iron Galaxy… a project is lucky to see ONE of those in it’s lifetime…

And Celldweller & AtlasPlug IS doing good…
Just not as good as Mick in my opinion, but we’ve been there already :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and BTW… the L.O.C. music kinda stopped being hiphop after the XXXCouture album… gone kinda pop now. Hippop I guess

I lolled

Wow this forum has vastly different music tastes from me. I think Kim Wu’s theme is by far the best in the entire game. I love it so much and cannot get tired of it.

Tusk and Arby’s themes are okay to me, nothing too special. Rash’s theme is very boring to me, I have no idea how it gets any love. Gargos’ was really cool at first, and certain parts are still great, but it emphasizes parts that seem dry and repetitive. Mira’s theme is pretty good, second best in S3 to me. And Raam’s theme is hands down the worst in the game.

It’s hard to really compare Cell/Atlas to Mick because they are just so all over the place. On one hand they have songs similar to Mick’s that I really love like Kim’s theme (similar to Jago’s, my previous favorite), and on the other hand they also have drab, forgettable songs similar to Mick’s Sabrewulf and Riptor.

That’s what I think too. Those 2 themes are my least favorite from mick, although I enjoy riptor’s theme a little more than sabrewulf’s. Sabrewulf’s theme is just missing some drums/percussion like his original one had. It’s a shame that mick never got the chance to fix riptor’s theme.

MICK for Season 4! (If)
