Halo 5

That’s the point of true competitive gameplay… you’re not supposed to have something better than anyone else just because you’ve played more/longer than they have.

How exactly does the Req system benefit the business model? I have spent exactly $0 on anything in-game unless you count the Premium Req pack that came with the collectors edition.

I would watch that video, but I don’t feel like getting yelled at by some moron

A true skilled based system would be if you make a new account and you are still just as able to be competitive in it with no disadvantages. Of course it isn’t there in warzone since req packs don’t transfer.

Warzone isn’t a competitive gametype… it’s that game you play when you want to ■■■■ around. It’s that game you 0lay when you want to test something. It’s that game you play when you want to boost for the Req points to get the gold packs. Seriously, I don’t understand the problem here

I want to point out that I’m not talking about better guns or in-game advantages, I’m talking about armour and skins.

Isn’t it more rewarding to earn a cool helmet by playing and levelling up? Halo 4 did a good job of this.

Imagine if killer instinct used the same REQ points system, and all the colours and accessories were now completely neutral. The only way to earn them, would be random drops and if you got lucky, you’d get a cool one. So if you were to see someone using sabrewulfs level 50 colour, you wouldn’t be impressed at him putting in work, he simply got lucky enough to get it. That doesn’t seem very rewarding does it?

I wish you wouldn’t be so closed minded as to call someone a moron for not having the same opinion as you. The guy who made that review loves the game, and critiques it very fairly. He gives honest, funny, and interesting points that I’m sure you could relate with, being an owner of the game.

Also, sure you don’t have to pay for the REQs, but the business model is exactly that. They don’t want you to realize that you are being killed slowly. Paying for unfinished games, micro transactions popping up everywhere, and pre-order benefits. These are the seeds being planted by Microsoft for even more money later down the road.

For ■■■■ sakes you can’t even play the game with your friends unless they have a whole new console and game! If that’s not business model I don’t know what is.

Anybody else miss the days where you could actually have people over and play games with them? I do.

Who cares how they got it? It looks cool and doesn’t effect gameplay. Getting something just because I levelled up is the same as getting something just because I got 10000 Req points. There’s no difference.

Angry Joe is a moron. Plain and simple.

What about Halo 5 is unfinished? All map packs are being released for free. I fail to understand where it is you’re getting this idea that there slowly adding in micro transactions. I don’t have to buy anything. I never did understand the problem with micro transactions everyone has. You don’t like it? Don’t buy it. That simple.

There are two permanent unlocks guaranteed in every silver and gold pack. I’m not sure how much easier it can get…

Isn’t the idea supposed to be that getting EVERYTHING is difficult? Isn’t that kind of the point of having the whole collection to show off? Don’t think of them as Req points. Think of them as XP that you use to level up (open the Req packs) to unlock things… There’s no difference

There’s quite a difference.

On one hand you work towards, and earn what you get. Like in Halo 4 when you had to get a certain number of assassinations to wear the Venator gear. It gives you something to be proud of, something that not anyone can get and something you work for.

On the other, with REQs, it’s completely random with the only motivation being that you’ll get another pack of you play enough matches. It’s just not rewarding. If I see someone wearing Venator gear I know for a fact that it was random.

People do care, I’m one of them. That’s also fine if you aren’t.

I kind of think there should be a bit of both if you ask me. Have some really cool permanent unlock(s) that’s only available for doing specific things in the game, but also have some really cool permanent unlock(s) that’s only available randomly via REQ packs.

There’s generally supposed to be 2 in gold and 1 in silver, but if you read the description for each REQ pack, the last line says “if available.” I’ve always wondered about that, because, well, why wouldn’t it be available? It’s a fracking digital item!

Basically the “if available” means if there are unlocks left.

And there are always 2 permanent. It’s just not always armor. It’s the certifications that are available as well. The certs are permanent unlocks which up the probability of getting items.

The short campaign has me worried as I usually enjoy (and used) to play Halo by myself. Any truth to this review?

No. Joe’s a moron. Campaign is “short”. It’s 15 missions

You need to calm down as this is the best a Halo game has offered since 3. The REQ system works as well as Titanfalls in the way there mostly all disposable cards (Ive got 33 armoured Warthogs for crying out loud), the games designed that way as you REQ level growth is a lot slower then you Points you get to spend.

Not true! Its design is to reward people that play the game, somebody did the math for 100% unlocks and its around 600h I think don’t hold me to that, but anyone who loves the game will hit that easily. If you also haven’t done the math yet you should only buy Bronze till you hit Rank 40 to secure the majority of “common” permanent items as you’ll get about 6-7 out of 8 packs then rather then 4 guaranteed from 2 sliver & 2 from a Gold. Use your points smartly or you’ll be in agony city unlocking commons in golds for a very long time.

I wouldn’t trust Angry Joe when it comes to reviews. The campaign is roughly 7 hours long for most people it took me atleast an hour longer to complete than Halo 4’s campaign did.

Thanks a lot. I would play on one of the harder difficulties (not normal difficulty) anyway.

Sorry but most of what you’re complaining about is the req system and customization all of which isn’t enough to make it a bad game in my opinion and for the AI being dumb honestly Halo 5 has the best AI in any Halo game to date. Remember Halo Reach’s where the’d literally drive you off a cliff in a warthog?

As for what people have been saying most people I’ve spoken to and comments I’ve seen from various websites, the majority of people who bought Halo 5 say it’s the best Halo since Halo 3 and has one of the best multiplayer’s in the entire series.
