My favorite ideas I’ve seen here are Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark and Edgar and/or Freia from Phantom Dust. They seem like they would fit right in, with Joanna wielding guns and gadgets and Edgar or Freia using their Esper powers to create lots of things.
I also love the idea of a cross-universe of Mortal Kombat characters, KI-ifying them if you will. I’d start with the classic Pro-earthrealm characters with special abilities like Raiden and Kitana, because I think there could be an interesting spin on their elements lightning and wind/air (her fans), respectively, which are currently not represented in KI. I like Scorpion and Sub Zero a lot, but we have fire and ice covered. : )
Sorry to disappoint you, but it looks they’re more fans of Mortal kombat than Killer Instinct. Did you see their new clip? Eddie fights the devil in a MK2 style duel.
I’ve spotted that the devil wings looks like Omen wings. Coincidences..
Yes, I saw it and loved it. The video was produced and directed by Llexi Leon, a comic creator who pitched the idea to them and was apparently the fan of video games, not necessarily the band. He talks about it here and was really the one developing the video and choosing the references.
Oddly enough, I had been requesting Eddie as a gust character in both MK and KI.
I assumed the chances were minuscule it would happen in reality, so I was thrilled to see it happen in music video form. However, it just cements it as an awesome idea, especially in KI where he could get a themed stage and guitar rock that fits right in with the metal/monster KI vibe. Again, probably will never happen, but felt it was worth mentioning again, because of how the video made it seem like the idea works so well.
Honestly I just dig the idea of guest characters in Killer Instinct. I think it would do a wonder for getting interesting in the game from people outside of fighting games. Also KI’s story is a bit odd, can’t say it had a whole lot of depth to it. And considering that KI kind of built itself off of making characters based off of movie tropes it kind of fits in with the idea of a Microsoft mash up.
I would LOVE Arbiter, Skorge, a Brute, Jewel, Scalebound dude, Ori[?].
I would also really appreciate some interesting skinds. Cole from GoW for TJ Combo/ Grunt for Wulf / Scorpion for Jago / Laura Croft and some other MK skins?

when I read there would be another guest character slot on the roster:
Linn Kurosawa from Capcom’s old(ish) Alien vs. predator arcade game.
Not going to happen I’d geuss, all the MS-owned characters make more sense.
Maybe if he has a classic costume but the modern one would have to be the gold armor that he now wears as the leader of his people and what he will wear in Halo 5.
both his gold and silver amors would likely be coverd by his main model the base of his outfit is the tights the armor pieces could be swaped via accessories. his retro = generic elite
Anything that doesn’t come from shooters. So no Halo, Gears, etc. Everything should be interconnected with fighting games or something alike. My suggestion, Bugs freaking Bunny!
