So basically ur saying that rash being #1 vote had nothing to do with his debut, what games can they get guest characters from that would fit in combat design wise and be balanced sure as hell not mc or any gear character. Bringing up a horror game to a guest character poll is a great comparison bruh, I mean Its pretty much set in stone who the next guest is it’s a community driven game and it seems everyone would rather have jo dark then banjo Conker MC or skorge and getting characters from anything outside of Xbox exclusivity won’t happen so keep dreaming

I never said they would brother bring any other franchise out of the xbox ip, in fact if you scroll up to the first 50 posts on this thread you would see the list i posted of most wanted characters in the game acknowledging that Jo is one of the ones people want the most. Please pay attention and stop just trying to argue about everything.

I think Lara Croft would be okay. I said this a million times on the old forums, but I’ll say it again here. I think there’s a big potential for crossover skins or outfits - you could very easily give Orchid a Lara Croft outfit from Rise of the Tomb Raider as a cross promotional idea. Her new design is already clearly influenced by Tomb Raider, so it would be a perfect fit.
Oh I agree, I’m sure if IG tried hard enough they could give them serviceable movesets. I still don’t think they’d be as interesting as some other choices. My point was that the Halo/Gears choices are all super boring characters compared to others that could be added, and for me personally it would turn me off as I’m not a fan of Halo, and though I did play the hell out of Gears 2/3 multiplayer, it wasn’t through any love of the one-dimensional, poorly realised characters. Surely if there have to be guests IG can do better than that.
And when people ask for Skorge, do they remember how much of a forgettable jobber he was in Gears 2? He’s in about 4 scenes in the whole game, and his boss fight is laughably easy. He’s hardly the badass people are making him out to be.
I just think that asking for MC or a generic Gears character is lacking in imagination. There are choices that would fit more convincingly in KI. Like I said in another post though, that’s the question; are guests being added because IG have new and interesting ideas for their movesets, or because they want to cash in on mainstream fans’ recognition of other franchises?

Series official characters are far more interesting and far more important than guest characters for any fighting game that isn’t made by Nintendo.
I like what they did in terms of updating Rash from the old games and making him functional in a modern fighter, but I wish he wasn’t actually in the game and taking up a S3 character slot. For me, the less Guests the better, and having NO guests would be perfect.
I don’t feel like KI has its own universe, its own feel enough. I think its story is also entirely uninspiring. Guest characters remove that burden. You don’t need to develop stories which is apparantly pretty hard to do.
I don’t agree with writing off Halo and Gears characters as being one-dimensional let’s be honest it’s not like you’ll find a whole lot of depth and personality in the KI cast in fact most of them are one dimensional characters as most fighting game characters are and that’s never been an issue.
People ask for Skorge because he looks like a cool character I think you’re really reading too far into this, it’s not like the character is going to be restricted to his gameplay from Gears of War 2.
Would you mind posting some of those examples? I don’t really think it’s a question of one or the other they can both have a character with an interesting moveset and have mainstream recognition and if they can why not? Your view of those characters seem to be pretty narrow and you seem to have already predetermined that their gameplay will be stale and that may be because you simply don’t like those series and it’s fine if you don’t like them, but I don’t see how a character like Rash fits any better than a character like MC does.
You’re right I guess. The KI characters are definitely not well-written and in depth. However I feel that they all (including the newcomers) have great designs and cool backstories if nothing else. The fact that the Halo and Gears characters are to me some of the blandest and most boring in video games is colouring my perception of this a little bit. So yeah, that’s not a great argument. My bad.
I made a post earlier where I mentioned Edgar from Phantom Dust, and Joanna Dark. I’m not going to type it all out again but it’s somewhere upthread if you’d like to take a look. Both are owned by MS, both are underused, IMO both have unique designs and the potential for a really cool moveset. And I think they’d both feel right at home in the KI universe. I guess you could say that Jo Dark would be similar to Master Chief or whoever in that they’re both just gun users, but I felt that the weaponry of Perfect Dark (Laptop Gun traps, Slayer guided missiles) would be better suited for an interesting playstyle.
Also, I haven’t said that Rash fits better than anyone being suggested. I can appreciate that others like him and I’m happy that those who have been asking for a Battletoad got their wish, but to me 90s KI was more goofy than serious, and new KI has been nicely straddling a fine line between the two. Now with Rash I feel like we’re firmly back in goofy territory. I’m not a fan, personally.

Agreed. Accessories can easily make up for guests. I’ve said it plenty of times, Elite armor for glacius and crackdown armor for TJ instead of getting those characters in. Like the Orchid Laura idea.
Bravo u found one post with like 7 replies from the same ppl did I say no 1 from the forums would like it no and in sure those are same 20 or 30ppl who ONLY voted for general RAAM on event hubs so pointless Which Microsoft / Rare character would you most like to see guest star in the new Killer Instinct? as much as everyone wants a gears characters they will have to go through epic games which is just more loops whereas going to rare wouldn’t take any because they made KI originally
So then what’s your point in arguing with my suggestion then? I’m putting my two cents for a character I would like to see, yet, you’re making claims that the Gears fans will bash KI for adding a character from their franchise to the game, which you have yet to site. I gave you an example of where it wouldn’t. Coming from their respective forums isn’t the point.
It doesn’t matter, to me, who gets added or not, I don’t care if Jo, RAAM, or whoever gets added over Skorge, more characters the better. It’s what is good for the game.
i mean I guess whatever is good for the game then, a mod remove my post for guest gears character which was almost the start of the year which would be impossible to find anyway. U just did a search I’m actually a part of the forums daily and there’s more toxic ppl on then just that little post u showed. I said it for a reason cus I posted that thread on it before and ppl were bashing it. But it’s whatever if they do add a gears guest nothing I can do about it regardless I just hope they listen to the majority when we voted for Joanna
