Failed to connect to matchmaking servers [PC]

Just wanted to drop in here and let you guys know what finally worked for me and let me connect to matches. I had no problems getting a Teredo address but I had never been able to connect to matches before so I tried something a bit random.

I went to my Network and Sharing center and clicked “change adapter settings” (the page that shows your network cards etc).
I disabled the TAP-Windows Adapter V9 thingy that was there (I think it’s there for windows VPN stuff) and then I no longer needed to switch to the enterprise client for Teredo in the CMD.

I do have to re-enable Teredo after reboots with the : netsh interface Teredo set state type = default
but it fixed my issue and I successfully connected to a match in casual!

It’s July 1st and apparently there is STILL not fix to this. I’ve tried everything listed in all the forums and am still not able to play a MP match. This feels crooked. Can anyone update this or help please?

I cant connect to anything either, still.

yep same here just bought the game 2 days ago cant play any of the online just says Cant connect to servers my teredo says obtained my xbox live services says up and running still cant play i have the teredo adapter. tried all these fixes and still nothing.

Same problem here. I can’t connect to matchmaking servers since wednesday!

Just my two cents since every time my Network interface and software change, it breaks my Killer Instinct online play:

The last time my online matching broke happened because I installed Windows Phone Emulator on my PC and it installed an emulated Ethernet Port in my Network Interfaces. I disabled it and my matchmaking started working again. Now, I only need to re-enable it when I’m testing Windows Phone apps for internet capabilities, and disable it when I’m going to play Killer Instinct.

Before doing this, make sure your XBox App can obtain a valid Teredo address first, then do other troubleshooting.

I hope this helps some people. This issue appears to be an OS problem, not a Killer Instinct problem on PC and it affects us, the players, and keeps us bouncing back and forth for support without a clear target.

I’m only bumping this because I am experiencing this server connectivity blocked error now that I have started playing on PC again after a few months break:

I have tried every single Teredo Command prompt / device manager / registry edit / technique, restarts, installs, uninstalls.

I have no third party antivirus/firewall/networking software installed either - uninstalled avast premier and reset my windows 10 pro to barebones windows firewall with the default settings JUST like they said to do on the microsoft support.

I have even contacted microsoft support only to be told by them that I need to contact my local Internet service provider and ask them to make sure they are not blocking the required ports for the Teredo crap.

Command prompt is telling me that my Teredo connection is fine, my ipconfig is fine, my registry is fine, my services.msc settings for IP helper etc are all fine, every possible thing pre-required as they suggest is working and qualified, and my NAT type is OPEN instead of moderate/strict which is the best it can be, but it still says server connectivity is blocked.

My ISP then told me they are confident the issue is nothing to do with their hardware/network so I should contact microsoft again and tell them its their problem - now I contacted microsoft and they told me I need to phone microsoft network and outlook support on 1800-987-2301 for support on the networking issue, which is free in the USA but will be an expensive toll call from where I live.

I did contact my ISP three times and even bought a brand new modem and router and upgraded to the fastest Fibre connection available to eliminate the hardware/bandwidth possibility, and they confirmed that they dont block any ports but still I get server connectivity : Blocked.

I can still access the store and buy stuff and download shadows in shadowlab and all that stuff, but I cannot do any multiplayer matches/ranked mode or exhibition online vs…:frowning: it just searches forever and ever.

My last resort will be spending $100/hour to get a networking ITsupergeek to just come to my house and probably retry everything I already did and then call microsoft on a secret business/technician agent number and get some back door remote support that us laymen cant get on our own…but I hope I can solve it before throwing money at a problem that never existed when i forst bought the game for PC :frowning:

Would love to hear if anyone else is having the same issue -

I used to have this connectivity problems a few days ago and I found a solution involving device manager that worked for me.

You said you have tried every single Teredo Command prompt / device manager / registry edit / technique, restarts, installs, uninstalls… so you have probably already tried it and didn’t solve your problem.

Anyway, the steps I followed were:

  1. Go into device manager
  2. Show hidden devices
  3. Go to network adapters, look for “Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter” and disable it.
  4. Scan for hardware changes
  5. Enable “Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter” again
  6. Restart windows

I hope it works for you.

P.S. Sorry for my English.

Thanks for that, but yes i tried this many times and still does not work.

UPDATE: I spent 3 days on the phone with Tier 2 Microsoft support and they confirmed that the issue is caused by windows 10 updates.

TO ANYONE ELSE WITH A STRICT OR MODERATE NAT TYPE AND BLOCKED SERVER CONNECTIVITY ERROR IN THE XBOX APP FOR WINDOWS 10 - the ONLY way to permanently fix this problem is to completely wipe w10 and do a fresh barebones install - according to tier 2 microsoft support, this was the only way to correctly fix the issue completely and they acknowledged that there are alot of people experiencing this issue preceding several w10 major updates this year.

It took me 3 days but they fixed it for me and im back in the lab to enjoy some holiday season Combos XD
