Eyedol MU: Scublord Report

Wait how did he not get a random switch to mage stance? That guy seemed to be able to stay in warrior for the entire match. Then during the second match he started out in mage, switched to warrior, then stayed in warrior for the whole match. Is there a way to prevent the switch or something?

Because he’s just doing normals and not using any specials.

The command list says his normals should still trigger it, and I just checked and his kick normals do trigger the switch but for some reason his punch normals don’t.

Oh, I didn’t know that. I thought all normals kept Eyedol from changing form.

I saw that he could keep punching himself between rounds. Doesn’t seem right imo.

Oh lord that sounds terrible. I’ve not experienced such a thing yet, but that seriously sounds like a ■■■■ situation, regardless.

If they’re gonna change stuff, I vote getting rid of button-switching altogether in exchange for removal of j.HP’s crossup. That sounds dandily solid to me.

EDIT: The word in blocks is p.o.o.p, not it’s curse word variant. The fact that it is blocked, but ■■■■■■■■■ is not amazes me.

Nah, Sadira just has no wakeup. I do the same thing with Shago pizzacutter. This isnt something broken about eyedol, its an inherent weakness in Sadira. Same thing when Shago gets trapped in the corner. No options except get lucky.

His dp has good vertical range seeing as how it goes straight up.

You don’t need no AA to beat this. You just air to air him with a jumping light attack.

Have you seen how easily Sadira gets stuffed out the air, even by ground-based characters? Most times I go air-to-air against someone, I’m the one that ends up on the floor.

I doubt it’s possible to air-to-air Eyedol when cornered at least because of block stun and Eyedol’s ridiculously fast looking jump, not to mention his reach as well.

Sure. However that button is so long and meaty in mid air that you will lose everytime. I’ve played this annoying character a lot.

I’ve often thought this about Sadira, but I don’t want to get pushed into a rant.

I can’t test right now. Are you sure you can’t do a j.light attack in between his jump attacks?

Did you see the vid? I tried to just jump out and it mostly got stuffed.

The shadow web cling escape thingy would get me out if I wasn’t cornered but would sebd me straight back in there to get DP’d. The shadow ground spin (widows bite?) Will get you under him, if you’re fast, but that’s as far as I know for getting out of there.

If the air-to-air fails, then it’s probably 15-20% of your health gone.

This is just his rushdown form, God knows what his mage form deals out.

Don’t wanna sound like an a** but did you try jumping with an instant light attack?
I saw your vid and I saw that the time gab is pretty tight that’s why I am asking that question.

Can someone please just test this.

Instant jumping light punch.

Recluse

Backdash

Even Sadira’s normal AA probably would have worked. From what I can see in the video, you were just too early with it.

His jump fierce hitbox is dumb but you definitely could have anti-aired after he demonstrated that it was all he wanted to do.

I’m getting salty just watching that. I feel for you, buddy.

Yeah, at one point I was mashing it to see if the button was still working, because of the block stun.

Sorry, I know eyedol’s j.HP is kinda silly, and I know this won’t sound good, but you deserved that loss and it’s your own fault for losing like that.

You could’ve AA’d him so many times he would’ve died from AA’s alone even if you didn’t convert for combo. You even tried the right button a few times, but always got it early, which is in itself a testament as to how much time you have to AA in between two j.HP’s.

Jumping light attack on air to air, as mentioned, would certainly have worked, but the ground AA’s will work as well. If he tries crossing you up, just forward dash underneath him. The move’s hitbox as a ghetto crossup is really spacing dependent, I really really doubt it’ll ever catch a dash under.

These sort of annoying tactics can get under your skin, and with a bit of delay it can be a ■■■■■ to deal with it if you weren’t expecting it. I get it. But it isn’t even close to how annoying shago’s pizza cutter used to be before the nerfs, IMO. While I totally get the salt, please don’t think this happened because the move is OP or that you really had no options to deal with it, because that’s just plain wrong.

Shago’s pizza cutter wasnt a cross up like this. This move crosses up yet Eyedol is still in front of you. So you block normally but get hit in the the back of the head.
Shago at least had to travel overhead and behind you somewhat.

Eyedol can hit the cross up with a vertical jumping HP
