You find the “hive mind” rampant here because when you post your unpopular opinion, you also make it a point to attack people with opposing views.
Maybe calling others a hive mind is a bad start, and saying things like:
The rest of the world understands how stupid
Is not going to forward the debate in any other way then getting others taking part mad.
Saying things from the stance of your opinion, rather than absolute fact will get you a less hostile response, which is why this:
is perfectly fine, while this:
will get you nothing but hostility. I respect your opinion to not want Eyedol back. All I ask is for you to respect the opinions of those that do.
That being said, I completely agree with you on updating the retro skins, and getting some remakes of the classic stages are definitely something I support.

If they wanted they could make Jago a fencing fighter that throws knives instead of energy balls
Well if they were to do that, Then he wouldn’t be Jago anymore.
Dammit… hit “Do not” by accident.
I do want him back.
I don’t see why he’s so hated, how many times have anyone actually seen a two headed Cyclops in fantasy stuff?
Gargos is by far more generic… still love him. But a gargoyle is not original
He’s not mentioned even once in all the new lore material, so he won’t show up unless he’s just a minion of Gargos. That said, I don’t like both their original designes, Eyedol was just stupid looking and Gargos is just super generic. What I want is a really badass boss character, he can be named either way.
I would like the boss to be some kind of demi-god being, a more human-shape would be best to convey his personality. He needs a big presence, big voice and some nice facial aniamtions. This is all I ask for.
Okay, so we’re on the same page with the design. How should the character play? Big and slow? Big and fast? Obviously, Maya got a complete gameplay and design overhaul, but even that came within the boundaries of repurposing her original moves (the Mantis, Jungle Leap and Flip Kick), adding dagger tosses instead of slashes and simply increased her size to proper amazonian proportions. So my health idea is an attempt to make Eyedol as unique a character archetype as Maya while still working within the confines of the original as we knew him. If you have other ideas on how to do that, I’m game; I’m just trying to find something engaging that will make him an interesting character beyond, “Look! Eyedol’s back!” or “Huh. Why are they calling THAT Eyedol?”
Since Eyedol has two heads, it would be great if Eyedol had two different fighting styles, depending on which head was “in control” of the body at that time. You could change which head is in control by pressing a button combination. (Think Gen from Street Fighter Alpha.)
One style could be slow and powerful, while the other style could be more nimble but not quite as strong. Thoughts?
I like the idea of basing his(their?) moveset on the use of either a ball and chain or a giant metal flail. Swinging it around with long startup and big range.
Alright then. Let’s see if I can explain this right.
one important aspect of creating a charecter(especially in a fighting game) is that you create your charecter before you create his ability archtype. however the two can just be a random power but a ability that twists and meshes with the charecters backstory so well that you couldn’t change their backstory without affecting that power without drastically changeing the core of your charecter.
you did this well with your idea, an N dimensional thing is an amazing idea that makes sense why that particular health would exist on a being like eyedol… however what i dont like is that idea in the first place on a charecter like eyedol and thus without that idea to back up that possibly hard and annoying to balance ability there would be no real reason to put it on eyedol.
The reason i dont like that idea unfortunatly is that it clashes with where gargos is from. almost the entierty of season 2 created the idea of where gargos came from, what kind of place it is and the proper setup to the big reveal. putting eyedoll, who was supposed to be gargos rival as some random dude from a random dimension place with no setup towards it like the astral plane had …well it makes both eyedol and his health mechanic seems shoehorned.
I like that. I know that Keits said at one point they were hesitant to go full Gen because that would be twice the auto-doubles for everyone to memorize, but it definitely make the two-heads thing more than a novelty. Another thing that was thrown around was two instincts, one for each head.
I understand your concerns about shoehorning him in. There’s been no mention of him thus far in the lore, and that could prove problematic for an “end boss” type character. Then again, there’s been no mention of Tusk, Mira or Kim in-game outside of these forums, and they’re about to drop, so I’m not sure that’s a dealbreaker story-wise.
And him being two beings wouldn’t necessarily be inconsistent with Gargos’ true nature, either - Gargos has been gathering power for decades to make the transition from the astral plane and has had time to coalesce himself into one entity. If Aria realized she bit off more than she could chew and hastily dragged a rival through as a Hail Mary, that being WOULD be imperfect and angry.
Two beings fused into one definitely creates a lot of possibilities gameplay-wise. Yes, it would be tough to balance; I just threw in the health mechanic as a way of keeping his signature overpowering cheapness intact while handicapping him. Even Gargos wasn’t as stupidly broken as original Eyedol. If they want to invent a more nuanced character and balance it, instead giving him something less drastic like multiple Instincts, well, that would be fine too.
Now that you mention that, I could see them changing Eyedol’s story to be that he is supposed to be some sort of Ultratech lab creation meant as the Hail Mary you mentioned earlier to combat Gargos that may have been created by studying Omen’s power. Basicly Eyedol is to Gargos as Cinder is to Glacius.
I certainly feel that having someone essentially play as two interchangeable characters would certainly keep the variety of Killer Instinct fighting mechanics in the game!
Perhaps only the special moves and CERTAIN normals would change, so that they wouldn’t have to redesign every single move for both heads of Eyedol.
