To be fair, KI WAS an MK rip-off back in the day, and the graphics in KI aren’t up to the modern standard. Not anymore. So their points are valid.

But
 why do you guys care what other people say about KI?

I mean was it really a MK ripoff? Back then MK had basically zero combo potential, it was about who could land their special attacks and who could mash HP faster. KI back then was completely original being combo focused, the only thing that mimicked MK was the finishing moves.

As for what others think, its just disheartening to see ill-informed people trashing one of the best games in the genre because they’re petty and only care about visual fidelity. Potentially turning new players off from trying KI when they see the E3 video and are flooded with negative reactions.

KI was a rip-off of MK and Street Fighter, but had its own twist. Such as the combos and graphics. I personally didn’t care, and still don’t. KI is still one of my fave fighting games of all time.

Now now, this is a biased opinion, and you know it. I love KI and it IS a good game, but it’s still just an opinion.

With the landscape of fighting games these days being as bleak as it has been. I’d still say KI is up there pretty high up there in terms of overall balance, design and longevity. Biased or not, opinion perhaps but KI doesn’t deserve to be crapped on by a bunch of kids who wouldn’t know a good game if it bit them on the backside.

KI has a hard enough time being a budget title that never got enough funding, never had an ounce of marketing and is still kicking it four years after its rushed release on a new console using a weird seasonal price model. This game has been fighting uphill since its birth and I guess it just gets me a little tilted when shlubs give it hell over something as petty as graphics.

@rukizzel Any chance that Shadow Lords will be updated w/ a new mission or chain of missions that focus around Eagle? Kinda like how we got the “Wrath of the Wolf” missions for Tusk, maybe it could focus on how he infiltrated/escaped Ultra Tech.

Also will we be able to find Eagle in Shadow Lords mode & recruit him to our team and play with him early like we could with Kilgore & Shin Hisako?

Honestly I don’t think MS will really care. After all, people still trash Minecraft’s graphics and look where all that bashing has gotten them.

I say, he’s the perfect addition to the KI Franchise. This counts as another piece of proof of IG listening to us, watching us, and loving us.

I love them back.

I’m glad I hated this game blindly at one point, because what it became when I opened my eyes
made me respect what DH, IG and MS did.

Now that Eagle is revealed I’m going to start looking forward to maaaaybe having a Rushdown Glacius remix, a Sharkman and a lovecraftian critter.

I like the trailer, and I admit that Glacius’s role in Eagle’s story is strangely compelling to me. I like that this connects the. Characters and might even make them a sort of faction if there own since it really looks like Eagle is using some Glacius tech. Glacius has not really had any relationship with the other characters beyond being opposed to ARIA up until now.

Eagle looks pretty interesting and I think it’s another good gameplay idea that they haven’t implemented yet. It looks like his combo animations are interesting although I haven’t teased out what’s an auto and what’s a linked.

I admit I haven’t played much ki lately. I’ve had really limited time and I’ve been enjoying Injustice 2. But I will certainly come back when Eagle drops to check him out.

So is there a reason for Glacius freeing Eagle yet? I don’t think I’ve read about any motivation on his side yet.
