I don’t understand.
I mean that the “universal lobby” which this game features is IMO a bad design choice, is redundant and takes too many steps which could be saved with a simpler interface
You walk to where you want to go and you confirm. That’s it. I already mentioned the other method of traversing the different modes, so there’s that.
Also, how is it redundant?

Connection lost from lobby. Signing out…biggest reason why i hate the system, unnecessary especially the fact it can kick you out of training and in looking for a match. Yea, i don’t like it
You can’t confirm to joining a match from the tutorial? You have to exit it? Is that what you’re talking about?
No i mean i got kicked out of the lobby while in training mode. It said i disconnected from the lobby and was sent back to the title screen
Fighterz beta is having some issues on the Xbox side; takes forever to find casual games and they usually don’t start when both players accept. No arena or practice mode is really a goof no matter how you look at it too.
Also, today is a preorder only extra beta day but my friend, who hasn’t preordered the game, is able to start it fine though he’s dealing with the same issues I am.

How’s the beta going for you guys? Besides some connecting issues, how’s the game itself? Do you like the new characters? Is Kid Buu worth $60 or no?
Right now the game is pretty fun when I actually get to play it. To me it’s different enough from other 2d fighters that I’m at a loss for how to guage different characters in terns of skill/traits (i.e.zoner vs rushdown). But then again I’m not much for FG analytics…I more play by feel.

Kid Buu is strong. His jumping medium and crouching medium are ridiculous for movement and combos, respectively.
I have tried to connect to the beta so much today and with hours of searching for matches I have so far only played 3. Two this morning and one this evening. I know it’s a beta and this kind of stuff is bound to happen, but it’s hard to get a feel for the game if I can’t even play it.

It really just makes me worried about the Xbox release of the game. If they can’t get a beta right a few weeks before release, then will it even be fixed?

Given the way games are handled anymore I wouldn’t start claiming the game a lost cause until it’s been out for a month or 2 and they’re still having these kinds of issues. Sad to say but it’s pretty well an industry standard anymore to release an incomplete game and then work on ironing out the bugs. So long as there is plenty of single player options to help pass the time I wouldn’t worry about it much.
I mean if it released like SFV did and it was pretty much online content only and THEN the online was in need of major tweaking, then I’d be worried/concerned.

To be fair, the first beta didn’t work at all. A few months later, we get this mess. An improvement but not by much. It leaves me concerned about launch day.

The thing is gameplay wise it looks extremely promising. If it still has these problems during launch, it’ll probably still be fine for a bit. It’s offline mode will probably keep people still for a while.

I think I figured it out. I joined a lobby with 0/64 people. I’m getting matches instantly. I think there is a certain thing where only a certain amount of people can do world matches per lobby or something.

Well this is quite disappointing. The beta has frozen and crashed on me like three times now and the one time I was able to connect to a lobby I got kicked out of the lobby while waiting for a match.
I really hope that things improve before release day. I’m not one to clamber for freebies but it would be nice to get some kind of compensation if this is going to be the state of the game when the game comes out. Maybe just like some extra colors or something would be nice.
Edit: Got into another lobby and am searching for matches. Got paired up with someone but I’m not sure if they either didn’t accept it or they lost connection.
