Community dying?

why would a “dead” game have more entrants in CB2017 than 2016?

i really wish y’all would stop escalating everything into doom and gloom territory just because you and a vocal minority are personally unhappy with the game.

And i wish you guys be more realistic.

I think the word you’re looking for is “agreeable.”

Ok, im wrong! Ki scene is super good, every tournament care about the game, s3 is perfect and the community is more active than before.

Now pls stop to quote me to say things that arent fact.

All the things you said are debatable or subjective except for

which, if we had specific numbers, could be directly proven true or false with no sense for disagreement.

Happy? You got 3/4! Bravo.

Not this time man, go wash some dishes and stop provoque people on forums.
Im out of this conversation, i really cant with this anymore. Im done.

The good thing is, my words is here, and racional people know im telling the truth

But I think he’d be happy if we were gullible.

I’m not exactly sure because I haven’t went to any of them, but IIRC there were more people in attendance at the KI World Cup this year than there has been before, correct? Could I get confirmation from those that have attended? Not that the KIWC is a be-all end-all measuring stick, but certainly growth there could at least be an indicator.

I would say the reason we have more players this year is because of other games at CB. I know over half of the player base competes in more than one game. I would say that Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 have something to do with the increase in KI numbers at CB. You are already there playing one game, so why not do another.

Is that relevant though? Remember the negative Nancies keep trying to point out that no one in the FGC likes Season3. So even if its players jumping over from other games that suggests that KI S3 isn’t universally disregarded. I’m also not sure that having new, high profile games at the event would necessarily be expected to boost numbers for KI.

So if we don’t agree with you, you give up? Dude…

I am not saying KI has been disregarded, I was just saying that just because the CB numbers are bigger, doesn’t not mean it is all due to KI. Unless the numbers in question are the KI numbers from last year vs the numbers this year.

I have never really put much skill behind the tournaments. Yes there is skill, but it is also who can afford to go. It would not be worth it for some players to go. Even if they one first place.

I think this thread has run its course.

With new games, people will take breaks and break some ground into other franchises which is great because we want to expand the outreach to more people to participate in the FGC or they just want to do their thing.

Here’s the thing. Unless someone gives a specific metric on what consider the community “dying,” then there’s a conversation to be had. As those who have participated or viewed this thread, some people equate this to the competitive side (which it should not), the forum side (which it should not), but instead to if people are playing the game. All my opinion of course.

No one, not the devs, not the established players (to my knowledge), nor anyone who has participated onto these forums has agreed upon what we consider a game as alive or dead. If it was considered that a game is dead due to it’s competitive scene, then the Mario Kart series would be considered a dead game even though it’s hardly seen in any form of competitive format that is easily discerned and recognized (like being sponsored by Nintendo themselves could be a viable example of this).

It’s stupid that this is an unspoken assumption to which every person has to figure out for themselves, but that’s currently the what were dealt with, at least how I see it.

Setting this to auto close.

I only wish people were so inclined to discuss tech, mechanics, or even lore into depth as much as people do with these silly posts.

“Is KI for Gurls!?” - 493928 posts.

“Kan-Ra setup tech” - 6 posts.

Well, I guess drama is more favorable than other discussions.

Of course i said about the competitive scene.
Sales show how many people played/play the game, casual or competitive.
In any moment i talked about that.

I said what i see here and in the competitive scene: Less post here and less tournaments.
