Hopefully we won’t have to pay for ultimates.
Ahh…ignorance is bliss.
That would be a serious suicide to most fans if ultimates were paid content. So far the KI team hasnt let me down yet so I have hope that it will be handled well. Also I feel like that would not be a good move on their part. Putting ultimates in a season however or in some bundle of some kind would not be unheard of, however I would prefer not to pay for such content. The game doesnt have enough finishers as it is.

I would agree to that. It seems odd to do so. But since this is also not a season, someone needs to get paid for the content. IDK.
Even so We’ll have to find out. If they are hopefully they will be reasonable pricing. Wish @rukizzel would respond and clear this up cause I have a feeling this can spoil the hype.

It’d be a real D1ck move to charge for ultimates to be honest lol but considering MK has done it with classic fatalities, it might actually happen.

If they do charge for ultimates I don’t see why that’d be such a bad thing. Obviously they are very expensive and time consuming things to make and they should have every right to charge.
MK didn’t charge for Brutalities. SF4 never charged for its ridiculous over the top Ultras. Why should they be charged here? A gameplay mechanic locked behind a paywall is probably the worst thing you could individually monetize. There is no reason for Ultimates to be monetized, period.

Yes they did, they charged for it as part of the main game, which they could include because they had bigger budgets. Also ultimates aren’t gameplay mechanics, they’re just alternate ultras, zero impact on gameplay.

Because they were part of the main game. That $60 you pay when you buy the game includes them.
They never charged for the secret ones they added later on. My point is, they never charged for any of this.
oh, yeah. Forgot about that. Got into that game late enough to buy the Komplete Edition. Still, that was three moves and like 7 skins, all bundled together. It’s not just selling separate moves. Plus you could only use them while wearing the klassic costumes. And, when they didn’t bundle them like that in MKX, they were free.

??? Why are you buying individual moves? You mean ultimates triggered by said move? Is that how this is gunna work?
It’d be cool if they released them before KI cup so they could be shown off during competition. It could attract more players. But I think they’re coming until after the cup
I really hope this isn’t one of those things that’s “free” but is held behind some crazy long grind session to entice people to buy KI gold or something. :\
Having to unlock them period is already an unsavory proposition.
It wouldnt just spoil it, it would kind of ruin it. But all and all, Its all about playing the patience game. Theorizing things with blind anticipation is never really going to get anywhere until actual facts and news are unearthed. For right now I wont assume anything and hope that things will be fine.
